If you're reading this review, then you too are suffering from an invasion of flying critters. Our fruit fly infestation was so bad, that walking into the kitchen you would see something like a dark cloud moving out of your way as you passed. It was like the parting of the red sea -- but with fruit flies.
After weeks of keeping the kitchen meticulously clean and seeing no end in sight to our problem, I became an expert at "Windexing" fruit flies. Windex in one hand, paper towel in another, I was like an adventurer, uncovering the hidden (and not so hidden) dwellings of this nefarious pest. I perfected the spray "stun" and paper smother "kill" method. But even at the height of perfection, I was only one woman, and my enemies continued to outnumber me.
So finally, in an act of total desperation, I purchased this product. And oh my god, what a difference it's made. Within about 4 days, 80% of our fruit flies were gone. After a week about 99%. Now, I just keep this on the counter, and any time one of those buggers resurrects from the grave, it heads straight to this trap and the problem is gone before it even started. These traps last well longer than the month they suggest (I've had my current one on the counter four 4 months -- still picking up the odd fruit fly here and there).

I have gotten these from Gardners.com before, those are sturdier and seem to have more liquid in them.

The design of these fly traps is very nice. The flies are, indeed, attracted to it. The problem is, they don't get trapped. They fly in and out like it is their little fly clubhouse. Any time there is activity near the trap- for example- the one sitting at the bathroom sink- they all come flying out. Maybe the flies here are just more talented after months of me trying to kill them off...
EDIT: I had one of the traps in my bathroom, in a sink that isn't used. Well, the sink started dripping, right into the fly trap. So it filled up with water, and I had to pour it out. TONS of flies were in it!!! I'm increasing my rating from 3 stars to 4.
I went ahead and bought the Fly Web light trap. It's amazing. I love seeing the visible evidence of the flies stuck to the glue board. It is very effective.

I had a terrible infestation of fruit flies this summer. In the past, I've had a few flies but nothing like this. They seemed to be multiplying which was kind of freaking me out. Looking online for solutions, I could not believe what a real problem it is. I tried some of the home remedies which were a lot of work and literally gross to deal with (fruit in vinegar and wine, etc).
I thought I'd try this product because it had some good reviews, and I'm glad I did. You simply pierce the four holes with a small stick that is provided. It allows the scent (bait) out that attracts the buggers. It's very discreet looking. I just placed it on my kitchen table and very soon they started heading for it and going in....never to be seen again. Yes!!
The Natural Catch Fruit Fly Trap did really clean up the problem quickly.I believe the instructions said to keep a trap out for a month. I knew it was just over a month, but I thought I'd let it go a bit. I could not believe I saw one lonely straggler fruit fly there today, so the scent must still be working! I do plan to put the other one out soon, just in case.
The price is good, and it does the job. The seller was easy to deal with, and the product came promptly. What more could you ask for?
UPDATE 1/15/16: Just a word to the wise (from experience): Today I received this item from U-Spray Bugspray, and it arrived in good condition, in a padded envelope with clear instructions. My ORIGINAL order (for the review) came in a printed box like you would find in a store. BUT, a few months ago, I THOUGHT I was ordering the 'same thing', but the items arrived in a plastic bag in a REGULAR brown envelope that literally got SQUASHED in the mail (plus, no instructions were included....not good for first time users). Being squashed, they were unusable; vinegar and it's stink everywhere....nasty! I contacted Amazon and was happily given a refund. SO, just be careful who you are buying this from!
