Probably the all around best knife for carving....

This, two of Mora's hook knives, a Pinewood Forge hook knife, and an old hatchet I had do the trick for Kuksa's and spoon carving... what fun. I have easily more than a dozen Mora knives not to mention many others and it's this particular blade that I use about 80 t0 90 percent of the time. Its blade is shorter than most of my other knives and I find it is just much more manageable while having the thickness and stiff spine for large cuts and major wood removal when needed. By far my favorite knife...
Perfect knife for carving/whittling

Even a beginning whittler needs a good knife - and this carving knife fits the bill. It is super sharp, easily resharpens with the strop I purchased (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FFJ9TLW/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_9), and fits well in your hand. There is also a Morakniv that has a longer blade, but the shorter blade in this knife is easier to handle. It is a great overall knife for carving or whittling.

im not sure if it is a 10 degree or 15 degree
sharpening angle it would have been
even better if a blade angle guide was provided for sharpening,
but it is a great knife to work with ... keeping it sharp after about a half hour
work is a challenge..

Have been using this to whittle some spatulas lately. Works like a charm! Been using on hardwoods like Rosewood and White Oak and has held up just fine! Done about 4 from start to finish and have not had to sharpen yet.

A very lovely sharp knife. The tip needs to be handled with care because it will bend easily. Comes sharp. You will probably have to do some work on the handle to make it work for you. I sanded my handle and will oil it soon. The problem is that the handle is made of a very rough wood that splinters and you don't want to get a sticker while working with a knife.
