Seems like a decent knife
Amazon CustomerJanuary 9, 2018
Seems like a decent knife, and the size is nice. The sheet is a little flimsier than expected and the internal compass at the bottom of the twist off handle doesn't seem like it would hols up that well. Otherwise it's a good multitool/survival knife.
child's toy

i heard the comments of this knife being smaller than they expected but i didn't believe them and still tried it out and boy oh boy was i wrong it's tiny. like uncomfortably tiny. also didn't come very sharp but that can always be fixed. also idk if this is supposed to happen but the compass in the handle jiggles a lot and makes a lot of noise. would've given five stars if not for the dullness and the compass. overall pretty cool knife... for a child.
Good quality for Boy Scout needs
ScottSeptember 29, 2015
The perfect knife for Boy Scout wilderness survival. Arrived in good order, blade was sharp but could use a finer point so I ran it through a professional system. I used the saw to cut down a limb and the knife as an axe to cut away branches to make a walking stick. Works as needed and has survival gear in the handle with a compass for those emergency situations.
for things like waterproof matches or anything else you can fit in ...

I think one, single band-aid in a "survival hilt" is completely silly.... but having that compartment, and a tight plastic tube that fits in it, for things like waterproof matches or anything else you can fit in there, is quite nice.
I have no history with buying or owning knives. I honestly can not comment on quality beyond first impressions. i will say that it seems like a worthwhile purchase, doubtless there are better knives out there, but for the price i paid i am sure i bought something which will be serviceable. people who do a great deal of outdoors activity might want something more, but i have no doubt it will serve my needs. If i had to list one complaint, it would be on the compass in the hilt. it does not work. at all. utterly worthless.
Anyone not used to a hollow hilted knife may think it feels loose, like it could come apart. it felt like that to me, and so i check it out. what you are feeling is the movement of the plastic tube in the hilt. the knife is quite secure.
Great potential.

This has a really solid, confident feel to it. Inside the handle is an integral block of metal extending down into the hollow. From the top of the beefy blade collar to the base of the block in the handle is about an inch and a quarter of metal anchoring the base of the blade. The blade is held in place by one hex bolt through the side of the handle, that I can see, but there is no play between blade and handle. The metal of the handle seems to be steel, from the sound and weight. The tool without the kit is noticably handle heavy, and I wouldn't expect aluminium to be this dense. The blade is 7 1/4 in. long from the collar (7 6/8 from the gaurd) and 1/8 in. thick with just a little spring to it, using only my hands to bend it. The handle seals with an o-ring which stretches out around the beveled base of the cap threads, providing a good seal and applying pressure to the threads to help keep the cap from backing out. The sheath is made of heavy nylon cloth, is quite flat and large enough to allow the knife to be carried reversed or to poke a laniard hole through the tip without the cord being cut by the blade. The corners of the saw teeth have been beveled while the edges of the teeth are reasonably sharp so the corners don't tear the sheath material. The grind is a little rough on the back of the clip point but not bad really. Yeah, I feel pretty confident in this thing for realistic use (it aint an axe or hammer) and at the current price of 12 and change I'm not afraid of risking loss or damage. Good knife.
