Best for music in small subs
gm0n•May 14, 2016
So far so good. I poured through tons of reviews of about 20 subs before settling on the ML Dynamo 300. If you believe most reviewers you can't get a good sub for less than $750.00-$1000.00. The point that drew me to the ML was that many reviewers claimed it to be the 'most musical' of the entry level subs. After integrating the ML with a pair of Beovox CX-50's, I think they were right. This sub blends beautifully with the Beovox satellites. The pairing sounds GREAT.
The system I added the ML to is in a smallish room (12x12) and has hardwood floors so it's very reflective for the down firing ML. The little sub fills the room with very clean and fast bass response at about 50-60% volume on the ML's volume control.
The ML was easy to hook up, I used the high power speaker ins due to a lack of line outs on my amp.
This may not be the best small sub for the glass rattling explosions on home theater especially in large carpeted rooms. But for music in small to medium rooms it pairs and blends beautifully with high end satellite speakers. I'm very pleased!

$109-Hard to beat!

Tried it out for a couple of months & liked it so much, I bought a 2nd one for $109. The 1st was purchased for $129. Like most other reviews, it's a neat little sub for the money. Took a chance on the 1st sub and hoped for the best. I was super happy with the results. This sub is being used in the bedroom and is perfect in size and sound quality. I have friends that have Sony, Samsung, Logitech, JBL, Pioneer & Yamaha subs & surround set ups. This ML-300 sub is the best of the bunch & far and away surpasses all of the previously mentioned. They all want my sub now. For you audiophiles out there, this may not be your sub. But for the rest of us, it's great for the casual movie viewer and music listener. You could spend a lot more for not much else. Diminishing returns as they say. My Cerwin Vega CVDS-12 and surround speakers are used in the larger living room area and fill the room with sound & have lasted 6 years with no problems & sound as good as ever. It would be great if these little ML-300's lasted at least that long also! Warranty for this sub is 3 years.
Very Musical and Reaches Low

Great, musical bass. Perfectly meshes with my JBL powered monitors. I replaced a failed Polk sub that was good but no match for this Martin Logan speaker. I was upset when the Polk went south but now I am happy of the problem. It inspired me to search out a hopefully more reliable and better sounding sub. The Martin Logan reaches down further than its size should warrant. I do not use this sub for home theater so cannot remark on how good artillery and car crashes are reproduced but, for music, in my opinion there is nothing in the price range that does so well.
Great musical sub
djp616•February 1, 2016
Excellent subwoofer, for music particularly. It's very musical with tight defined bass. Not boomy like most every sub in this price range or even significantly more expensive. I was hesitant coming from an Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX sub that plays down to 16Hz. But I have to say this is a better sounding sub as far as the quality of the bass. It's also much better than my old Klipsch Sub12, which could get a little boomy, but still a very nice sub at the price Amazon regularly has it on sale for.
Now for home theater you're definitely going to lose out on sub 30Hz bass but again the quality of the bass you do get is very good. I should point out I have two of these running. Ideally it would be nice to have one or two Dynamo 700's or 1000's but if you're on a budget or dont care about truly deep bass in your movies, don't hesitate to buy the Dynamo 300. It's great.

Perhaps The Best Value Residential Low-end Small Sub-Woofer
Honest John•June 1, 2015
This is a inexpensive entry unit into the residential sub-woofer market. I love it with qualifications. In a room under 12' by 12' it performs well for music of different genres and ages of recording--analog/analog2digital/digital, etc.It does dinosaur rock, classic rock, heavy metal, classical, rap, old jazz, new jazz, techno I haven't used it with my big system, but I'm sure it would be okay. I compared it with one of my 10" front firing JBL ES150P sub-woofers and it was better in my small space bedroom. The Dynamo 300 is generally has crisp bass and improves slightly over time. Given the wide variety of things I tried it works great after playing with it's controls. Minor adjustments in volume and cutoff is required depending on the source input...not quite automatic. It can screw up a TV; it is not shielded. My system is a Onkyo TX-8020, Klisch KB-15 pair, a relic JBL dvd/cd player, and old stuff plus this Dynamo 300. It sounds great but minor adjustments are needed to the Onkyo bass level and the Dynamo controls at times. Usually, I use a 70-80Hz cutoff and 60% volume. Read the manual before buying. Experiment, don't believe everything manual says about speaker placement. I've only used a LFE single connection for input; no issues.Give this a serious look if you're in the market for a small place sub-woofer. Enjoy! Very smooth seamless bass...
