i don't know what is with this router it is giving me erratic speeds. i thought it was the internet but i hooked the computer to the modem and did a speed test and was getting maximum speeds but when i hooked up the router it cut the speed in half at first and i wasn't able to take calls on my computer i work at home. so i put the comcast modem back on till my day off and i hooked it back up and getting 65-80 mbps down and on just the modem i get 115-130 mpbs down. but today i checked the speeds and getting from 80-130mbps. can't test to see if the phone will work until i go back to work later today.

I bought another brand a year and a 1/2 ago for $20 and one day, it just quit working. Of course it was out of warranty, so I went to re-buy it and it's now $29?!!! Screw that - especially with my performance history - so I see this little gem for $15. SOLD and working PERFECT - even BETTER than the other one. Time will tell if it will only last a year - then quit - or not - but for now, 5 stars. I reserve the right to change this rating in 11 months! :-)

Updated 08-18-2017.. This Belkin N450 has become a daily annoyance. At least once every other day it has to be turned off and restarted. The wireless signal to my PC, only 20ft from the router is miserable. Within several hours I will not be able to connect to my NAS drives/server after restarting. Initially I had thought the bad speeds were Comcast, but after talking to several other tenants that had speeds near as we're supposed to have, I realized it was this N450. I had moved my old reliable WRT54G router into a wireless bridge located in my bedroom.. directly on the otherside of the wall this router is located.. the signal is so bad that I can not stream a basic SD def avi video without it buffering every 40seconds. My WRT54G has had dd-wrt firmware flashed, so far I have not found any firmware for this thing.... I seriously wish I would have returned it before the time limit was up.....

Doesn't penetrate the whole house (2600 sq ft) quite as well as I'd hoped on 5g, but this is common for many routers. 2g is great, speeds are great. We stream internet TV with PS Vue on 2 TVs, Fire TV box, Wii, PS4, laptop, several phones and tablets all at once. It seems to handle everything fine so far as is stable.

edit: router restarts frequently during the day. Case does not provide adequate ventilation and cooling. I read many other users/reviewers here and other sites having the same problem with this model of router.

Edit2: opened it up and added heatsinks. The router still resets / restarts several times daily. This is probably a design defect inherent to this model and likely ALL Belkin routers with this design the past few years - they overheat and reset. They are not reliable with the current hardware & firmware combo. I'm contacting Belkin, but likely the only fix is a replacement... Which... Will likely develop the same issue over time. The more you use it, the more traffix, the more devices, the faster & more frequently it will overheat & restart.

I have had this router for about 3 years now and it has never given me any trouble. Works great with the multiple devices that are going in my house at the same time.
