Poor height adjustment on fixed base

I really like these cordless trim routers for handheld routing. Makita has a good one here except for the poor height adjustment mechanism on the fixed base. You would think a rack and pinion design would give good results but you have to maintain pressure on the base clamp with one hand while making adjustment with the other. I find the ring-style height adjustment of the competing yellow router to be much easier and accurate to make fine adjustments. My Makita is still a great trim router but mostly resides in the plunge base.
Got rid of my heavier router in favor of this battery operated unit - powerful!

Having a lot of Makita tools thought I would try this for lite routering. Well after a few door hinges, bevels and, corner beads, fluting found this handles almost everything with easy. No longer use my 110v heavy duty router - replaced with this unit. Variable speed is easy, like the safety start feature, battery life is also pretty good. The height adjustment is a little course, needed to spend some time on getting the right depth after that all good. Wish list - slight larger base plate and a better guide - otherwise near perfect and of course Makita quality
