Good router

I bought this because I tore up a bunch of cedar from my 100+ year old house and turned it into shiplap for some ceilings. I love this tool. It took some getting used to but now I find excuses to use this over my Dewalt and Makita routers. My only complaint is that the on/off switch is clumsy, but this router is designed to go in a table and I use it primarily free-hand. The switch makes sense when it's in a table. It brought some fun back into my projects and I'm truly sad when I finish cutting and have to put it away.
Powerhouse!

Mounted under a Rockler routing table. Had to drill my own hole in the table for the adjusting rod, but that was expected and not a Triton issue. This router is a powerhouse! If you want to mount it on a router table the is a spring that will need to be removed. I know it's counter intuitive for most of us men.... But READ THE MANUAL!! You'll be sorry if you don't. This is an expensive router to mess up!
Smooth and powerful

I'll just briefly echo some of the comments of other satisfied folks:
1) has a "soft start" and doesn't jerk you when you start it
2) very easy to replace a bit - one tool only
3) when mounted on a Kreg table insert it works perfectly. You can do everything above the table.
4) has plenty of power for all but the heaviest tasks
5) research showed it performed at least as well as any other competitor and is fairly priced.

I was able to find an item from Infinity (3 pc. Triton Router Dust Collection Package) that would attach to the dust port nicely and allow me to use my dust collection system. As of 12/11/20, it was out of stock but it might come back again. Highland Woodworking also has something that might work (Dust Collection Hose Whip for Triton Routers).
Maybe the best router made.

This is my second Triton router, the other one being the larger 3.25hp model (mounted in a router table). I needed a plunge router with a round base. Every other router has a flat side on the base which makes it more difficult to use in jigs that align with the base instead of the a collar. It has plenty of power to do just about anything you would want to do safely with a handheld router and would probably be plenty for mounting in a router table (it comes with the above table hand crank, which works perfectly). I understand the idea behind the safety cover on the power switch but it does sometimes make it awkward to operate. There are plenty of reviews online that show the more common features of this router so I won't get into it in this review. I do like the gear driven knob to raise and lower the bit and the lock is in a very reasonable position to operate without having to look over the other side of the router. I really enjoy that it has a dust collection hook up already and it comes with the edge guide base with a circle cutter guide built-in. If you were looking for one router to do it all in your shop, whether a home shop or professional, I could highly recommend the Triton as my other one has been working hard for several years now. Just for comparison I do also own 3 Porter Cable 690's (the 90th Anniversary version), 1 DEWALT DW621 and 2 Bosch 1617's with the plunge and fixed base.
