Really great features, including an adjustable dial for thickness (set in millimeters for precision), and a sturdy base with rubber feet that adhered to our quartz-composite counters wonderfully. This slicer works best on the most commonly purchased block cheeses, like cheddar, monterey jack, pepper jack, colby, swiss, and low-moisture mozzarella. The biggest draw back for us was that the blade was VERY thick at its base (the part that attached directly to the handle). Because the base of the blade was so thick, any aged or dry cheese would crumble if it was sliced too thin. The thinnest we were able to slice was about 7mm (just over 1/4") before the aged cheddar & manchego would crumble before the blade made it all the way through. We also tried slicing a block of homemade refrigerated cookie dough into 6mm slices (1/4") but ended up with the dough crumbling as well. This slicer is GREAT for thinly slicing "everyday" types of cheeses, similar to what you would find on a grocery store cheese plate, but isn't the best for finer or aged cheeses.

we've had the adjustable blade . Then the marble & wire. maybe 15 usages then a new wire. BUT the westmark . WOW , Chop!!! what a pleasure to use. Cheese , salami, cucumbers. Adjustable thickness, easy> Very sturdy base, non skid. Love this product!

This sharp blade cuts even soft cheese in equal, thickness adjustable, slices. I went feom summer sausage to cheese, and oh my... so easy. Done with the stupis wire ones,chosing their own thickness on different parts of the sli, and done trying to tighten them. I was worried about the softer cheeses, but it did great, even on one i left out of the fridge, clise to room temp. Soooo worth it. P.s. good for cubing cheese for salad once you figure out the trick.

I have had this cheese slicer for a year and a half, and use it quite a bit. My husband smokes cheese regularly, so we need to slice up the blocks for serving. We also tried a wire slicer, which accidentally got left at a relatives's house, and we don't want it back. This is much quicker, easier, and works better! You can "dial in" the thickness you want. There is a limit to the size of block you can cut. We cut about 2" off of the big blocks, then slice them to make "cracker-sized" slices. This works perfectly for those. You do need to remove the slices after you have cut several to keep them out of the way of your new ones, or keep moving the slicer back to make room. It isn't really a big deal for us. And you definitely need to pay attention when using, cleaning, or storing it. Fingers and fingernails are no match for this blade!

I bought this as a cheese slicer for my hubs who smokes cheeses & pepperoni for the holidays. We've tried specialty knives, the wire cutters, you name it. But THIS THING was AMAZING! I sliced a block of cheese in NO time! Super easy to clean & lightweight too!
