I bought this phone because I was redoing my kitchen and wanted something unique. First off the green light on the side kept flashing due to messages. I tried all sorts of things, and finally cut it off and didn't use it for several months so that I could research the problem.Took me awhile, but I finally got it to shut off.(involve phone carrier, codes entered and actually cutting the phone off and back on every single time I have a message). so, finally got that straight then it wouldn't charge. Contacted customer service and they sent a new battery out immediately and phone began working again. They contacted me about the poor review I wrote and I explained all the problems I had with the phone, especially the incessant flashing. The customer service rep actually consulted their IT dept and came up with a solution. They are wonderful and use customer feedback to improve their products. Cute phone.

I have 5 of these phones and I LOVE them! I bought them for how they good they look but I am still blown away by what incredible quality phones these are. Note: I have owned and used my first ePure phone for over four years now in my open air Caribbean, non-air conditioned, high humidity, apartment - and we suffer regular power outages which can be killer to electronics. Point is, my home and my usage truly puts these phones to the test and they are fantastic. The phone functions are superb - excellent range, sound quality, durability, and battery life. The best cordless phone I have ever owned.

YES: EXPANDABLE. I have 4 sets paired to work off of one "base" unit, 5 phones all together. The 4 expansion sets plug into a power outlet and "pair" to the one designated base unit which is the only phone plugged the phone line. Any phone can be set up to work as a base unit or an extension unit - that configuration is not in the actual phone but in how you choose to program the phone.

YES: REPLACEMENT BATTERIES ARE EASY TO BUY.

The handset is easy to hold between your chin and ear for hands free talking "on the fly" but the phone also has an excellent quality speakerphone function for longer lasting hands free needs - like when on hold for a longtime.

Lots of GREAT SOUNDING RING TONE CHOICES & ADJUSTABLE RING VOLUME, INCLUDING MUTE. My favorite is the ring volume choice "progressive" - which starts ringing at low volume and gets louder as the phone continues to ring.

EXCELLENT ALARM CLOCK FEATURE - so easy to set and customize the alarm time/tone/volume. I use this phone handset as an alarm clock all the time. The alarm will only ring on the one handset you set the alarm on. That means, with my 5 sets of this phone, I can set different alarms on each of my different handsets.

I have had only 2 minor issues since I began using these phones four years ago: 1) I had a battery go bad, but I just bought a new battery and all was back to normal. 2) The instructions for "pairing" the extra phones to the base are impossible to follow. My "tech skills" are good, but I still have a near impossible time with the instructions for pairing the additional sets. I recently switched one of my white models for their red model so the very difficult pairing issue is fresh in my mind. It's an easy 3 step programming feature, it's not the set-up or function of the phone that's the problem - it's that the instructions are just wrong. It maybe a problem with the translation to English? I have managed to accomplish pairing many times for my many expansion sets, but only after many many failed attempts. So, if you wish to expand to multiple phones (expandable up to 5 paired sets), I can tell you the extra paired phones work beautifully, but be ready for some frustration in the actual pairing process. It is easy to do, but be ready for a lot of trial and error since following the instructions to accomplish this one task has not worked for me.

ANSWERING MACHINE: THEY MAKE A MODEL WITH A BUILT-IN DIGITAL ANSWERING MACHINE. I have one of their built in answering machine models as my "base unit" with 4 non-answering machine sets throughout my house paired to it. I recommend the built-in answering machine model as highly as I recommend their "phone only" model.

I hope I have conveyed what a high quality phone/phone system this is because it is SUCH A BEAUTIFUL phone you might not expect it to be a high quality workhorse as well. I am not saying much about it being the most beautiful cordless phone I have ever seen because I do not want to lose sight of the merits it's owed for performance & function. But about how beautiful it is, I'll me put it this way: this phone is so beautiful that I want it to be seen when you walk into the room. But it is for it's high quality that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this phone!

very snazzy. I don't think I'd like to pay $100 for it, but the white one was being sold for 30. People comment on how clear and loud I sound. Easy to operate, but like others have said... getting the missed call notification LED to turn off isn't easy. That is, there's a small algorithm you have to go through to get it to turn off, and its unnatural enough that I haven't remembered how to do it without checking the instructions yet.
I use it with voip which, on a less intelligent phone, using my voip box, causes it to ring twice (British style) which can screw up ringers made to sound in US ring style. This one ignores the voip suggestions on how to ring and simply uses its own judgement. Makes my phone much easier to hear.

I have three of these phones. The battery in one failed prematurely and completely after about six weeks (and it was not used during that time). I wasn't able to find a replacement battery, including through Amazon. After my detailing my travails in this review, Swissvoice got in touch with me and sent me one, no charge, and the phone is fine. The secret seems to be to contact [email protected]. If you own this phone, take note of this email address.

Based on its shape, I'd hoped to be able to hold this phone between my chin and shoulder, the way older phones allowed. Sort of -- the microphone is actually a tiny hole above what you'd think is the microphone, and you somewhat block that when the phone is against your chin, somewhat muffling your voice. It's still usable as a chin/shoulder phone, as long as you position it carefully. All in all, it's a good phone. Audio quality definitely better than others. Range is good. Stylish, for sure.

Well, now the battery has failed for the third time. It's been several months since the second failure, and it was quite a period between the second and first failures. The second time, Swissvoice sent me two batteries, so now I've put in the spare and it's working again. This is actually another phone that I swapped into this room after the second battery failure. NOTE: ----> It is clear that if you don't use this phone, at some point the battery will become defective.

This is a nice, sleekly designed phone. It was a little tricky to initially figure out the features, but has been working fine (up and running for approx 6 weeks)we are in California and have internet phone service through Comcast ( I had some a few misgivings after reading reviews about it being European and maybe only working in analog mode)the green light does turn off (contrary to a few of the comments)it lights up for missed calls, which means I no longer have to listen to my dial tone to figure out if I have messages. My only suggestions would be A) make the numbers light up B) make a wall mount option.
