I can't get the lid to stay down...it always pops up and it needs to be down!
Cheaply made and inadequate
Douglas R. Davis•July 19, 2013
This is a very cheaply made and poorly designed product. Pieces do not fit well together, amd the plastic parts meant to hold the springs broke off immediately, rendering the spring top useless. Extremely disappointed in the quality of this item.

This composter is very flimsy. It looks way better than it actually is. It arrived just wrapped in plastic and the plastic had holes in it do to shipping. As I was putting it together one of the pegs that holds the sides together broke. There are also red clips that help hold the tops of the sides together well they do not stay on at all. I liked the idea of having doors on the bottom all the way around but they do not stay on very well, they would not keep rodents out at all. The lid went on fairly easy but two days later the plastic slots where they clipped in broke so now the lid is not secure at all. I am returning this tomorrow.
Great for a while....

This was super easy to put together! My daughter and I did it before the hubby got home and everything went together easily. The only thing to be careful of, the little plastic "straps" that go around the corners, the bottom one has issues with the prongs bending and not staying in the hole. So you may have to work with them a bit. We've only had the composter for about 2 1/2 weeks, so can't say how well the compost looks yet... but the bin looks great, the hinged lid is a breeze to open, and it stays closed. I like the idea of having access to the compost from all four sides and the doors just slide down into place. It's a great size and I can't wait until our first batch is ready!
Edited: We've had this for about a year now. It still works fine for composting, but clips on the sides keep coming off and the lid is warping. :( Reduced in stars from 4 to 3.
