This was such a fun little project for me and my daughter.

I got this kit for my daughter to create a beach themed stepping stone for my mother since the beach is her favorite place to be. We used shells that we have collected over the years and engraved my daughters initials and the date in the stone.

Although I did not use the accessories that come with the kit, the mold worked pretty well with the mixture. There were a few corners that didn't hold together when the stone was dried and removed, but my mother didn't seem to mind. :)

My mother-in-law has everything so this year, instead of buying something she already has (jewelry, a luxurious robe, etc.), I decided to make her something since those gifts are meaningful in a different way. She is a child of the early 70s, has a garden, and has that Pier I sort of style so I chose this and she LOVED it! I was very pressed for time and had to make it the day I was leaving for a music festival that was near her, so it cured in my yard under a laundry basket and my husband brought it up the next day when we met up for Mother's day. Great project for kids to do (with supervision as this cement dries quickly) and the stepping stone really does make a garden look like faeries will come out and play.

This wasn't the most user friendly craft. I am not sure I really mixed the cement correctly and it came out just okay. We did have enough glass left over to try again using plaster of Paris. I think with practice we could get better at it, but not willing to spend money three or four times to get it right. Will see how it holds up in the garden first.

The glass it came with were all dark colors. None of the bright colors in the picture. I that from reading reviews so bought separate stones to use but still annoying that they don't fix that since many people put that in the review. Otherwise a great kit though.

Plenty of glass pieces to choose from! My only negative comment is the mold did not hold up and can't be used again. It's like the cement melted it in some corners. Weird, but the one I finished is a beaut and it was fun to do!
