Great saw, easy to set up. Those who say this is "not cast correctly," or there are manufacturing defects, just do not understand how to set the saw up. If you don't understand, call Sawstop, and ask for help. The in box instructions are very good with clear steps and well organized nuts and bolts.. Excellent customer service from Amazon and Sawstop. The fence rails were not shipped with the saw, which Amazon handled promply. The saw itself is a very user friendly design, the fence was true out of the box with slight adjustment to the rail system on setup. Dust collection is very good, even without the blade guard on. Dust collection would be better with the overarm setup and blade guard, but I use my saw so many ways that require the guard off, it is not practical, so I wear a mask most of the time. I also run the Clear Vue 5hp system from outside the primary shop, through under floor duct work, so overall accumulation is very low in my shop. This saw is quiet, with minimal vibration. I find the 3hp model will cut 3 inch fir and 2inch hardwood with no bogging at all with a quality blade. I did not use the manufacturer provided blade, but put a combination Tenryu on the saw, which works well. If you are looking for safety and function, you will not be disappointed

I got this saw with the industrial mobile base and 52 inch fence. The saw arrived and had some dents in the cabinet. Amazon was great and sent a new saw right away. This is a great saw. Fit and finish are great. The saw is powerful and cuts like a dream, is solid and quiet compared to some others in its class. The dust collection is amazing. I got the overarm dust collection with a free upgrade from sawstop. I added the industrial mobile base so the saw can move easily in any direction. I added an EZEE FEED infeed table so I can break down full 4 x 8 panels with no trouble. I have read a lot of reviews on this saw with people complaining about the price. I can tell you that the money is nothing compared to an accident. I was hurt in 2012 and lost a couple years of work, had 5 surgeries and endless hours of therapy. all told we are talking about several hundred thousand dollars. Here is a photo of my saw and one of my hand after 3 hours of surgery the day it happened. Been working around power tools for 30 years. One mistake in one second is all it takes.

I am typing this review with only eight of my original ten fingers. Yes, everything the other reviewers said about the quality of the Saw Stop is true. It is a finely manufactured precision instrument. However, that is not why one buys a Saw Stop. You buy this saw because: (1) it hurts like [expletive] when the blade cuts your fingers, (2) the doctor and therapy bills are way more than the difference in price between this saw and any other, and (3) it is no fun to clean blood splatter off the walls. I have always been very careful in the shop, but anyone can be distracted for just a moment and bad things happen. If you are deciding between this and any other saw, do yourself and your family a big favor and think safety first.

How much are your fingers worth? That's what my buddy told me when I ask the price of his new Sawstop. I did the research and Sawstops are priced the same as the other high quality saws. I admit, I once accidentally stuck my hand in a table saw (not Sawstop). 7 stiches and a larger ER bill. Just takes a second of not being in the moment.
I love my Sawstop, worth the price. Cuts like a dream, great dust collection, good accessories, and high quality. Best instructions I've seen.
CONS: Wet wood can set off blade (use bypass). If set off, it needs a new cartridge ($60) and blade ($60+). Needs separate cartridge for Dado blade.
Over all great saw. Feel better woodworking with my kids and wife with the safety feature.
It's worth the piece of mind.

Update Jan 2017, Just over a year of use:
Was cutting through some walnut and the safety system went off and dropped the blade and stopped it. Not wet, no fingers, not sure why it tripped. Called Sawstop and they had great customer service. Sent the cartrige to Sawstop to be tested. They lost it. Not so happy. But, they sent me a new cartrige for free. So out a blade. The blade was not badly damaged, only lost 3 carbide teeth. I figure I can get 3 new teeth put on when I send out my blades to be sharpened, a $1 per tooth.
Still love the saw, working great. Always wonder if I cut through metal on accident if it will set off the safety system. Got a small metal detector to check all the wood for screws and nails. Cut through a metal staple the other day and it did not trip the safety system. So thats good to know. Don't know if I just got lucky.
Glad I purchased the saw, will keep it for the rest of my life.
