Okay this works well on the high setting though appears to cook unevenly found it does cook thouroughly, just not the darker desired even color one would like to see. For the money excellent choice. is non-stick and wipes down easily. Does get extremely hot burns are easily received. touch only the plastic lift till cooled off. Did make me hit with the heart shaped waffles. so it is a good deal on the whole.

Best waffles of my life, and I've had a few. Found a recipe for a crispier waffle (contains cornstarch) and I am very happy with the results.Perfectly cooked....4-5 minutes on the highest setting. I do not brush oil onto the surface of the waffle maker....and zero sticking!

My boyfriend's family is Norwegian, so I bought this as a surprise for when he is missing the real thing. He used it today and they came out perfect! If you are looking for an iron to make the thin Scandinavian waffles, this is it. The Norwegian recipe is different than what we would use for thicker Belgian waffles. I wonder if this is the reason others are not having the same good results? This product is definitely a great buy for this price!

In Norway waffles are dessert waffles and always heartshaped. This bakes thinner waffles than the Belgian waffle maker, and perfect for my Norwegian waffles. BUT, this one must go back as it doesn't bake evenly. The waffles come out unbaked in spots, and overdone in other spots. I have had many waffle makers over the years, and usually they start baking unevenly just before they just burn out. This one came out of the box like that, and it's going back tomorrow.

I love this waffle maker. It is perfect, easy to use, and so far makes perfect waffles! I use coconut oil to oil it before use, and can make a whole batch from one oiling. In fact the last batch I made I forgot to oil it before use and I still had no sticking so I don't even know if you need to oil it for each day's usage or not. (Sticking was a horrible problem with my last waffle maker- needed to oil between each waffle which was a big pain in the backside.) The only complaint is the outside gets very hot, and if you get it too close to plastic (such as the dish rack) it will melt said plastic. That being said, as long as you keep it away from meltables it's perfect!
