Love stencils. I use them a lot in my mixed media collage paintings. I wish stencils were cheaper because some of them are ridiculously priced. This was decently priced and a good size. Durable, so my students can use this as well.

I am an acrylic artist and am experimenting with mixed media . Stencils have caught my interest. I am not interested in stencils that are pictures of objects, but rather , stencils that can help me add textural interest, hence my buying a semi geometric , abstract stencil. I can use it for texture or background interest, without taking away from my painting ! So far my stencil efforts have been successful enough that I am continuing to pick up a stencil here and there that is abstract. They give a cleaner design than my trying to draw or dribble paint !!

The really tiny squares on the one corner are kind of too few and too small to really do anything. I liked the idea of random squares like this but actually they are different sizes but pretty evenly spaced. So it makes it kind of boring (and less random) in my opinion.

I love this little stencil. This pattern is really amazing when used to create an interesting background, or stand out foreground, in my mixed media art and art journal. I like slapping some Liquitex Modeling Paste on this to create an upraised stenciled design for a neat 3D effect in some of my art. Just be sure to wipe it clean before the paste dries. I use this all the time; it's one of my favorite stencils.

I purchased this and another template by the same company, one that looks like tiny chicken wire. Both of these are very nice. They are paper thin and yet hold up well to me forcing modeling gel into them onto a canvas. They would work well also for pencil or acrylic paints. Just allow it to dry a bit before you remove the stencil so it doesn't blur.
These are made of acrylic and wash clean under running water. I highly recommend them for your art projects.
