while nice for the first few months

This kettle, while nice for the first few months, develops rust and leaks, creating a mess all over one's kitchen counters.
The kettle is not stainless steel, and the kettle will form rust spots wherever water contacts the kettle.
My particular kettle, in addition to rust spots inside of the kettle, also developed rust and a leak at the base of the gooseneck on the bottom where the gooseneck meets the kettle. It leaks EVERYWHERE, and when tilting the kettle it will leak profusely - which is a great feature considering that it is leaking near boiling hot water on you.
I submitted a warranty claim and it was denied despite the clear manufacturing default. I would recommend fully to save your money ($75 or $99) and spend it on a company that doesn't willfully deceive their customers.

I absolutely love my Bonavita Gooseneck Kettle.
I'm a serious tea drinker so the exact temperature for the many different types of tea is very important to me. This kettle delivers it. The gooseneck feature was something I didn't think I would need until I found it with the kettle. Well, I didn't actually *need* a gooseneck spout, but I have enjoyed the convenience, safety, and precision it provides.
I purchased this kettle in August 2015 and have been using it every day. I even took it (and my teas) on our many road trips since then. I didn't think to save the box, so I simply carried the kettle and base burner in the crook of my arm through one hotel lobby after another, throughout many US states and several Canadian provinces. If I could pack it in our carry-on luggage (we only checked our bags a few times in our several decades of travelling), I would have taken it with us to Europe as well.

I loved this kettle! It was great for making tea or making coffee in the aeropress. It heated up quickly and I loved that I could choose the temp. However it died after a year and a half. Wouldn't even power up. :( I didn't even use it all that often. For a few months I used it almost every day, but after that maybe only 2-4 times per month. It's a pretty pricey kettle as far as I'm concerned and definitely should have lasted longer. Unfortunately the warranty is only for a year so I'm out of luck.
****Update: I contacted Bonavita and they are sending me a new one even though the 1 year warranty is up! Great customer service!

We're huge coffee and tea drinkers. I love that there are pre-programable temperature settings, I can set 205 for coffee, 190, 170, you name it for all my other tea temperatures. Since we're pretty serious coffee and tea drinkers I would say this is one of the kitchen gadgets that I use regularly, 3-4x a day. It's super fast, beats a standard kettle, I swear a whole pot of cold water takes about a min to heat up to 205 degrees! The small pour spout is perfect for pour over coffees, gives you a lot of control.
I had a problem with my kettle base showing the error sign, I was busy(had a baby) and waited 6 months before I decided to investigate the problem. They have a yr warranty and I contacted the company after reading a few reviews about other customers having the same problem. The sent me a replacement base in like 2-3 days and told me to toss the old base. Very fast and easy.
I guess there was a batch that was sold where the water would heat too fast/higher than the preset and it would produce an error code. It was annoying because you had to clear and restart it, but not too high of a deal. Anyway it was fixed and now we have no problems. Love this kettle!

I purchased this great kettle over a year ago in November 2014 and I'm writing this review in February of 2016. It has always performed well and it's been very easy to take care of. It gets and holds the temperature which helps me brew great coffee and great tea.
The reason I'm coming back now to write a review after over a year of use is because I noticed some small rust spots forming on the bottom of the inside of the kettle. This concerned me so I reached out to Bonavita. A few days later they replied that they will be shipping me a new kettle (despite is being out of warranty) no questions asked.
This alone is a great reason to purchase a product from a great company because they stand by what they make.
