Looking to use El Nino for positive yard results I purchased this as it has a designer terra cotta pot look. I do love how it looks, but the spigot dropped about a foot , during installation, onto the concrete and the handle broke. I think it must have been pot metal, so I had to replace it. Then where the bottom spigot screws in, with a bale so you can open and close it ,is (see black portion at bottom) the plastic screw in bale blew out under the pressure of the rain coming down. The piece is made up of two pieces and the bale pops into the piece that screws in and isn't made well. I had to attach a hose to the opening and divert the water until I can get back to Home Depot and try to find a remedy. we reinserted the bale three times and it kept popping out! With this happening the water just flows out the bottom. So much for catching the rain.

This barrel is great for collecting rain water in our yard. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't come with a short hose for the bottom and unless you buy one, it's hard to get water out of it once it gets low.

We made the mistak of ordering three of these rain barrels and throwing away the packaging before taking a good look atwhat was in them. This product does not deserve even one star. It does NOT come with brass faucet or fittings. Everything is plastic. One barrel came without the hose. We were able to replace the faucets they supplied with brass ones we bought, but were not able to replace the plastic hose fitting, which would not tighten, so we ended up plugging it up. I expect we will replace these someday soon, but will want to see them before buying. Amazon did give us a small refund for the faucets and misrepresentation in their description.

I liked the looks and the faceted I can plant flowers. It also can be drained into other barrels for over flow.
