Item description should say that it can cut soft metal, not steel. I purchased it to shave my quadcopter's motor's shaft to fit a new pinion gear. The motor shaft is, of course, stainless steel. The lathe bits can't even scrape the stainless, instead it gets dents. Still, it is OK for this price point. Not a scam, but not great.
