I remember my grandmother using these & thought they'd work for me. NOT! My hair is fine, but thick. I have shoulder issues & was having difficulty using the curling wand - after burning my neck, more times than I care to admit, I decided to use these for the short back layer - I ended up having to have my husband cut them off my head - leaving what was left, frizzy & coarse! Might be right for some, but definitely not me!
