Attractive, sturdy and holds a lot of nectar

This is a HUGE feeder. I bought it because of the color. I had a clear glass feeder and I can't find a way to keep it shaded all day long so I thought the green color would help keep the nectar from getting too hot. The hummers I get in my yard would never use up all the nectar this is able to hold so I never fill it all the way up and there's still nectar in it when it's time to refresh the feeder. It has a wide mouth that I can get a wide bottle brush into so it's easy to clean. The top is flat so it stands very steady when you turn it upside down which is how I stand it after I put (cold from the fridge) nectar in it until the nectar reaches room temp and I can put it outside. I have 2 feeders so I can have one ready to go when I take the other one down for cleaning. It's very sturdy. Well made. Will last a long time. The bottom tray is plastic but that is the case in most feeders of this type. The birds like it so I'm happy with it.

This is such a beautiful feeder. Without 1 week I had lots of Hummingbirds feeding from it. It has an elegant design and looks beautiful for outside decor. I tried some of the top brand nectar but found homemade works best for this little ones. 4 parts purified water to 1 part sugar. Each week more birds find our feeder. I'm on a second floor with a long porch where I got a larger planter and put flowers in it with a nice sized shepherds hook, I hanged it from that hook and the birds just love it. It doesn't have cheap plastic and its very easy to keep clean, which is important because other plastic feeders, especially in the heat of the spring and summer would cause leaching into the water which could be very harmful for birds, instead this has a BPA free glass. Its worry free and easy to fill, it is also very strong and durable.

There are tiny red flowers to attract the hummers in. I did take 2 wavy long tailed red ribbons and tied 2 bows on the shepherds hook so that the birds would see the ribbons flowing in the wind, it helped to attract them initially. Plus the ribbons look very pretty on there too for a decoration.

To keep pests out, I took a shallow planting dish, about only 1.5"inches high and 16"inch wide, a bit larger then the actually planting pot, and I filled it with water for a moat so that any ants and insects would not be able to climb up the planting pot, because they can't across the water to get to it. After I put the moat under the planting pot I had no more problems with insects. I would recommend this feeder highly. It gives great pleasure to watch them feed all day long. Every 10 to 15 minutes they are back for more.
It does have plastic parts

I bought this because I liked the look and more importantly because it was advertised as having no plastic parts. That is not true! Just like my old feeder which started leaking when the plastic "stretched out" this too has a plastic bottom and a plastic part which screws on to the bottle. So if you too are looking for a feeder with no plastic you will have to keep looking.
Great feeder for the price

Really nice feeder that also looks a lot better than typical red plastic ones. Birds seem to love it and also like the fact it has a place where they can sit and eat without having to hover. Seems to be very good quality. Only thing I wish they had done was have the top of it recessed like a moat to keep out ants but solved that problem by putting double sided tape at of bottom of rod holding feeder and that solves the problem. Highly recommend and would buy again.
Almost Perfect

This is a nice hummingbird feeder and I really like the idea of a glass container. I rated it a 4 star because I noticed less hummingbirds attracted to this feeder. The reason, I think is hummingbirds are attracted to red and the only red in this feeder are the small flowers at the base of the feeder. I don't think that is enough "red" to attract hummingbirds from afar. I've read that adding red food coloring is not the best for hummingbirds but for a temporary fix, I thought to add a couple of drops in the sugar water just until they get used to this feeder. It made a big difference! As soon as I put the feeder out, they came. Hummingbirds get used to their feeder and until they become familiar with this one, I will add a few drops for a week or two then try it without the coloring. As far as cleaning the glass container, It can be put in a dishwasher but if you are in a hurry to feed your precious little birds, you can use a baby bottle brush. They are cheap and can be purchased at your local dollar store.
