It's good software, but some of the features that are in this version are rudimentary and should be included in the regular version. That you don't get a ruler in a piece of design software by default is just crazy. Thankfully, the price here was a lot better than on the company's site because while this upgraded version has some additional features, I don't think there are enough to justify such a high price. Then again, the whole Silhouette Cameo concept is very obviously based on upselling accessories and guides.

Includes extra features for using sketch pens, rhinestone designs, multiple cutting edges with knife tool, enhanced replicate tool, nesting feature to utilize optimum space on paper.when cutting, add shading and shadows, ability to use Pixscan mat, use svg files and more!
Find little extras every time you use it. A definite must to upgrade standard version and increase your skill level.

THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER. If you have a Silhouette and are even considering purchasing the designer edition of the software, do it here. You will be spending almost $50 anywhere else, but here you can get it for almost half the cost. I have watched the price of this listing and it does change quite frequently. I think I paid around $28, but a week later when I was telling my sister in law about it, it was down to $24ish. There are quite a few Facebook groups dedicated to silhouette projects/questions/etc and people are constantly asking, "is it worth it?" or "where should I buy it?" My answer is always "AMAZON!!" The designer edition unlocks several tools that I have no idea how to use and several that make me so thankful that I bought it. The main feature I use is the "pattern fill" feature which allows you to fill a shape with what ever pattern you want. I make stickers for my planner (#plannergirl/#plannerlove/#erincondren/#lifeplanner), and I was just getting images from google and then cutting them into the desired shape but it would take hours!. While this feature alone makes it worth it to me, it also has a bunch of other features. It allows you to import more file types (.svg), gives you more manipulation tools, adds guides and rulers, advanced knife and eraser tools, rhinestone patterns, sketch patterns, and more. If you craft at all, do yourself a favor and upgrade to the designer edition. The only thing that may be a downside to ordering it here, is that you have to wait for the physical card in the mail rather than receiving the code via email. It is well worth the wait, I promise.

I purchased this as an upgrade from the basic software a few days ago. I use Photoshop cc every day for work and I really missed things like guide lines and the rulers that I have in Photoshop. I was thrilled after my upgrade to see those in the Silhouette software too. I primarily purchased this because I own thousands of jpg/png clipart already and wanted to be able to import and trace them in Photoshop to expand my business into printed goods. It was very easy to do with this upgrade.

This was sent to me as an actual card (shipped and fulfilled by Amazon) that had a scratch off number on the back. I just went into the Sihouette software (there are also instructions on the back of the card) and clicked the upgrade button. Entered my number sequence, name, email,etc. and clicked upgrade. It did it instantly. No downloading any new software or waiting. Super easy!

What is pictured "Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Software Card" is NOT what I received. What I got was Designer Edition Plus upgrade. You must already have designer edition to use this card. It does me absolutely no good. Photo and title as well as the description are very misleading. Not a happy camper right now.
