Boyfriend bought this to make beats for personal music projects. Initial set-up was kind of a pain due to a personal computer that wasn't current on it's updates. Also, downloading the set-up was a little confusing for someone that isn't the most knowledgeable about technology in general. Once it's up and running, it's really simple to use. You can have a great beat going in around 10 minutes. There are also tons of synths and sounds for you to play with... at an unbeatable price. I would recommend this product to any bedroom producers that like to make their own beats.

I bought this because my brother has the larger version and it seemed cool. I didn't want to spend quite that much money, on account of I have no idea what I'm doing. I play several instruments but have little to no experience with anything digital. My brother still had me help him set his up and it was a nightmare! It kept not installing right, things were done in the wrong order, etc. Somehow I managed to do it right with mine though, I followed the instructions on the card, downloaded, entered serial. Then you have to refresh the thing for the actual software to come up (otherwise, it only shows the free sample players). Still, cool thing overall but I am still learning how to use it. I largely got it for the software, since the things I've used in the past are a pain and are largely outdated.
