This review is based on a system that uses Bryston, Audio Research Reference (last Johnson design), Thiel Audio (pre-sale), Nordost and PS Audio equipment and accessories.
This review is based on using the Dectet versus an IT-grade power-bar (Tr-Lt) designed to protect the above system against surges and brown-out.
The Tr-Lt originally only drove all source (digital and analog) components. The loudspeakers were plugged into old PS Audio Ultimate Outlet. The overall sound was unnatural with emphasis on the high frequencies and little low notes. Orchestral bass strings that lend weight to a symphony were near none-existent. Instruments were not natural sounding. It made "ok sound" that passed as ho hum background noise-music. We know the system is capable of much more.
Dectet with its stock cable was a "100%" improvement. The change went from "noise-music" to "veils music". We could hear more of each piece but there were still limitations. Instruments separated but a bit recessed and dull. While high frequencies came across clear, it was not airy and natural. There were hints of lower registers but nothing solid. Lower notes (plucking bass strings) were not clear. We struggled to hear what was there and got nothing. It is music now, but not lively, not enticing.
Dectet with the AC-3 cable brought about about "50%" improvement. A veil was lifted from all the instruments. Brass came across like brass. Woodwind sounded like woodwind. Cymbal clashing had the natural metallic sheen heard in live performance. Still, the separation was not completely there. Instruments still had a tendency to veil or cover each other. We had to focus to hear what was there.
Dectet with the AC-5 brought about a total change. A band that we know well can be heard clearly now. Instead of just hearing music, it is now resembling a performance. The music comes alive. We can clearly hear each instrument from top to bottom. We can also hear how each is being presented by the soloist. There is no need to exert deliberate effort to hear everything. Easy listening.

Believe it or not, the sound on my system improved.

Believe it or not, the sound on my system improved.
If you are trying to improve the sound on your system, this is a device that will help all your devices and not only one part of the sound chain (like an interconnect).
My experience, trying different ways to bring the best of my system, tells me that you get the best when you upgrade the power ( power conditioner, ps Dectet, power cords, etc.) and then upgrading interconnects ( RCA, HDMI, optical:coax cables, etc.).

Believe the Hype, cleaning the power reduces the noise and helps your System perform

Awesome product, I have spend much time in different interconnects and cables etc.. I'm always trying to get a little more out of the system I have. I came across some info that lead me down the path to this device. As you would with any new addition, you hope to hear that immediate impact or difference. We'll this did just that. I highly recommend this plus the Noise Harvester.
Also the PS cords are awesome but I'm still playing with a bunch of different companies to decide on one. Wireworld, PS, Pangea and Audioquest. I'm trying out all the different companies.

Retired an old Adcom power strip ( 10 years plus )which had relays that turned of in Sequence automatically amplifiers and source components. I have been upgrading my Audio System to Hi-End audio gear over the past 2 years and this PS Dectet was the need of the hour as all my power outlets on a semi dedicated power line are PS audio Classic outlets this unit just complements the rest of the system . The first thing I noticed was the color saturation on my Large Plasma TV. The next thing I noticed was the noise floor on my dedicated Hi-end two channel system went down , practically got a black background. at the same time I have the peace of mind that my high end components are protected ! The reason for 4 stars is that it is a pricey item for what it does
PSAudio is serious about audiophile technology

This product is amazing, and low-profile. Don't let its simple format fool you.
