I've gone through probably a half-dozen different kinds of organizers looking for a good way to keep track of small circuitry components. This is hands down the best one I've used for surface-mount components.

Sewing organizers and tackle boxes are better for larger parts, like things larger than your fingernail, but this is great for smaller stuff. The smallest parts I use are 0603, but I don't have trouble with anything falling out. The drawers also stay shut very well.

There aren't many cons, but the labels aren't very easy to write on. I just use a label printer to print part names out in a small font. The drawers are small, but I think it's a good compromise with how many there are. They're about 15mm wide and seem to fit about a thousand 0805 resistors comfortably. They're just large enough for a 0.5mm-pitch QFP100 chip to lie flat in, although you should probably use the pricier anti-static version of this box for things that require ESD protection.

Anyways, it's also small enough to put in a bag and carry around, which is very nice considering how many parts you can fit in it.

Great organizer for SMD components!

I am just now getting into more SMD projects and needed a container to hold all the SMD components for said projects. This works wonderful and has the space I need to expand. Each compartment 'snaps' into place and holds securely. I've only used a few of the compartments as of yet but have on order over 3,000 passives incoming 'on-strip' that I will place in this organizer. I have very high hopes!

Easy to use and holds you components securely. Simply pop up the slot and place your SMD components in it. It can even fit some of the smaller SOIC packages like the ATTiny85 or similar 4/6/8 pin packages, just note that this in the ESD safe one, so take caution when using active components.

Also, take care if you have multiple open, as the force needed to open each one is not consistent, one could take more or less which can cause adjacent components to "jump" a little and if the slot is open it may just jump out. I've had that occurs with 0603 and 0805 sizes.

I've had this thing ship cross country and get tumbled around in a bags, not a single component spilled out and not a single unit popped open. Again, take care when opening as the items will still move around a lot.

Other then that, this is my second one. First one I purchased awhile back and has been, and is still serving me well just a recent collection of capacitors, inductors, resistors, diodes, and more have made me run out of room in the first one!

This is the perfect box for not only resistor storage, but tiny hand-created model components. My father is a model car enthusiast and routinely cannot locate containers that allow him to easily separate very minute parts from one another. This definitely solved that problem and is an efficient use of his minimal studio space, as well. This is a great container to organize all those little electronic parts any hobbyist would have. It is well constructed and it appears that it will last a long time.
