I fell down some steps which cause me to crack my tooth and needed relief before I was going to let a dentist anywhere near my mouth so I remembered anbsol and thought about getting the gel thinking it would last longer. I went with the liquid cause liquid works faster and I was able to eat after about 5 minutes. There was no bad after taste and didn't numb my tongue after a week later I went to the dentist. Oh yes use this before you go helps to keep the numbing shot from hurting so bad.

This painkiller for the mouth stings like fire and it only lasts a short time. However, there is no lidocaine or xylocaine available ANYWHERE. lidocaine is soothing, doesn't seer you guns and you use it as a rinse. I don't know why lidocaine disappeared but it is most depressing when you can't eat because you are in pain.
