nissan fog light set
SteveSeptember 20, 2017
lack of detailed instructions turned a simple install into a several hours job. The Nissan web site was no help either. To install these light you have to disassemble the light from the mount. The clip and retainer for bolt are installed first. The clip is installed onto the mount in its square slot. The retainer for the bolt is attached to the tab on the top with the hole. (Part of bumper cover) then align clip with tab in bumper cover, a tab on mount also aligns in bumper cover and the bolt gets placed through the mount and tightened into the tab with bolt retainer

Factory parts at much less than dealer price. It took me a couple minutes to figure out how the fasteners go but that was the only small hitch I had. All I needed to do was remove one screw on the inner fender well, and it allowed enough room to get at everything. Well worth the price to get genuine Nissan parts and avoid melting your wiring harness. Anybody want to buy a gently used standard light stalk?

Installed these in my 2016 Frontier. They do what they're supposed to and are the OEM lights. Be sure to look up some online instructions to install the lights in the bumper. It's not difficult, it's just not intuitive if you don't know what you're doing (which I didn't; I just "went for it"). Once I figured the passenger side out, the drivers side went in in about 15 mins. The signal switch isn't hard to install, just be careful when separating the steering column plastic covers, they're very easy to scratch.

As others have said, fairly easy install, throw nice light and significantly improves the look of the truck. I installed these on my 2016 Frontier in about an hour following the directions posted by "B Review" on this page. Replacing the turn signal on the steering assembly was a piece of cake- took about five minutes total. I had a little more difficulty installing the first fog light on the driver's side. It took about 45 minutes and ultimately I had to Google for the Nissan instructions, which oddly were not correct for my truck (the diagrams for the Xterra matched my parts, rather than the Frontier diagrams). Once I figured out the clip mechanism and how to best get the screw in place, the passenger side took about five minutes total. Coincidentally, the day after the install we had significant fog and the additional light was evident and helpful. Truck looks great too. Only downside is the price, but you pay for what you get.

The hardest part of the job (and this is not very hard), is taking apart the front air dam on the Nissan Frontier to get to the mounting location for the lights. Once that disassembly is taken care of, the rest is easy. Note that the fog lights are identical to each other and interchangeable left and right. Each light has a three-point fastening scheme, and each of these three mounting points has a different design. The Nissan instruction sheet is very vague on this, so make sure that you dry-run the installation of the first light without any clips or screws until you thoroughly understand the mounting design. ONLY THEN should you use any fasteners. One of the mounting points is an irreversible push-on clip, so make sure you know what you are doing before you get to that point. The wiring harnesses for the lights are already there, taped up behind the front bumper. Just plug them in. The multi-function turn indicator stalk/light switch is dead-easy to install. Just remove 4 screws and split the plastic clamshell behind the steering wheel, unclip the old switch, snap in the new switch, re-install the clamshell trim piece, and you're done!! The multi-pin connector for the switch is integral to the switch.
