Needed an extra bed for occasional guests . Didn't want to fill up the room with 2 twin beds. Scheduled delivery was on time but the guy really didn"t want to bring it into the house. It is very heavy. He finally did. Set up was not hard but I recommend using the highest holes so that an 8" memory foam mattress for the trundle will slide under The reason we bought this rather than a regular trundle was that the trundle lifts up to the same level as the top bed..
Solid choice for small spaces

We needed a minimal frame for a small guest bedroom that would be able to support adults who come to visit. The bed was delivered on time, and we rather easy to install. I did it by myself in about 30 minutes. We have regular twin mattress' on the frames and they fit great. Just make sure you skip pillow top's or they won't fit. The rollers work smoothly. The pop up mechanism works well. My in laws slept on these for 2 weeks straight and said they loved the frames, and had a great nights sleep. This option is great if you have limited space but want to offer guests a real mattress rather than a pull out sofa or futon. The frame feels a teeny tiny bit wobbly and I'm considering buying bunky boards for underneath, but all in all, it was a good choice
Would Buy Again

We really like this product! It was very easy to set up. We use Ikea mattresses on them, which fit perfectly. Our frequent guests have all said that the bed is comfortable, and I love having the floor space open when the trundle is pushed underneath. We have not had any issues with structural weakness or buckling. This is very easy to pop-up/push down.
Comfort at a Good Value

Really great bed for the price. We bought this for our son and his husband for Christmas 2015. When we visit, the guys give up their king size bed and go sleep on an air mattress. This is as it should be, we are the parents we are not going to sleep on an air mattress while they sleep in a comfortable king sized bed, it's called respect. I suggested that if they let us buy them this bed for Christmas then they would never have to give up their bed again, in a nano second they agreed. I ordered on Dec 23 and the bed arrived Jan 4th, so a week and a half through a private delivery service, not UPS or Fed-Ex. Amazon does show the name of the shipper/trucker on your order and the trucking companies tracking number so you can go on the internet and look up the trucking company and enter their tracking number on their website.

We were not there when it was delivered and set up, my son in law said it took just a little bit to figure out how it all went together but the set up was pretty easy. I bought two 6" memory foam mattresses on the internet from Walmart for store pick up, and they were fine.

Pro- the pop up trundle. When you are older getting up from an air mattress is not so easy as it is down low and even blown up tight they are not firm. This pop up trundle pops up to a regular bed height and because it is made out of steel and it is solid, you can sit on the edge of the bed and put your socks on for example, the bed isn't going to flip over. It's solid and strong.

With the 6" memory foam mattress from Walmart (it comes rolled up and you let it poof up for 24 hours) I can say that the bed is very comfortable to sleep on. Very comfortable. I have a similar one in my home from 40 years ago and it seems to me that the wire platform that the mattress lays on is of a thinner grade wire than mine, but it is adequate. Fewer springs as well, mine has springs connecting the wire platform to the steel bed frame on all 4 sides, this one only has springs on one side of each, the trundle and the bed. I was a little leery of that but actually the bed was very very very comfortable.

I would recommend placing sleeping bags between the wire platform and a foam mattress in order to protect the bottom of the mattress from the wire platform. A heavy person is going to push that foam into the wire and possibly poke the thin mattress cover on the bottom of the mattress. Sleeping bags take up a lot of storage space so this is a good place to store them. It is a good value for the money. No more air mattresses when we visit our son and his husband, we ALL get a good bed now! Those trundles that don't pop up and lay flat practically on the floor and slide under the bed, how is an older person or an adult going to get up from those? It's to much like sleeping on the floor for me, I don't want to sleep on the floor. They are good enough for kids, but why buy a piece of furniture that can only be used by children? A solid strong pop up trundle is a vastly better investment.

Cons- the pop up trundle pops up via a scissor action with a lot of force. It would be dangerous for children to "pop up" the trundle, they could loose a finger. The first time you "pop" it up you are going to be surprised with the force with which it pops up, so make sure you don't have your fingers or shins in the way. Once popped up it locks securely, very secure, so no safety issues once it is popped up. Lowering it back down to slide under the bed is also pretty easy.

It would be great if they could shorten the delivery time between purchase and delivery, I think this comes out of New York and our delivery was to Atlanta. Since this is furniture it can't be delivered by drone, and they do tell you when you place the order that it will be two weeks delivery time, ours ended up to be less than the two weeks. It was worth the wait though.
Fairly easy to assemble
Sherry in TexasJanuary 7, 2016
Fairly easy to assemble. Quality, sturdy construction. Operates very well, however the operating instructions are not easy to find. They are located on small stickers mounted on the frame. If you are buying this bed, look for those stickers as soon as it arrives and save yourself some time and frustration. Would give it 5 stars if it came with a brace or other attachment to keep the two beds connected when trundle is raised"¦but it doesn't. Very happy with the bed overall.
