Appears to be a great product, but mishandled somewhere down the line.
Eric D•August 31, 2017
First, the Knee Roller appeared to be well made and overall a quality product.
I didn't assemble it because of the following:
When we received the Knee Roller it looked as though it was thrown into its box in a random manner. The protective packaging was loose in the bottom under the Roller. The zip ties used by the factory to secure the protective foam were cut and also laying in the bottom. Parts were strewn throughout.
It appeared as though someone had already opened the box, possibly assembled it, broke it down, and then placed it back.
The Roller's frame had numerous dings, the basket was dented.
There was excessive tape on the exterior of the box, it looked to be re-taped. Also, the box was torn where a label may have been removed.
When speaking with Amazon they said they receive returns and then forward them to the manufacturer. I asked if it could be a return and a definitive answer was not forthcoming.
I called Knee Rover and the rep explained how they package and ship their products to Amazon who then fulfills individual orders. Quite different than what I received. I want to thank the Knee Roller rep for his professional and courteous manner.
Unfortunately, a great product was mishandled somewhere down the line. I had broken my foot and had to stay off of it, I could have really used the Roller at that time. It was a real inconvenience for me to repack and ship it back to Amazon.

Great Ride!!!!

This is my 2nd scooter for a broken ankle. The first scooter was the typical one with small tires, which made it hard to roll over soft surfaces, grass, dirt, sand, etc... The main thing I was looking for in my next scooter was larger tires so I can keep up with my active kids.
When I received this scooter it was wrapped and packed very nicely in the box, not one scratch or broken piece. The installation process is a little more detailed than most and a little difficult to do, mostly due to me not being able to get around so well in my cast.
Once put together, this scooter is very well made, durable and a much better ride due to the larger knobby tires. Exactly what I was looking for!!!
The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the stowing process. If you want to put this in a car trunk or backseat you have to remove the basket to collapse the handle bar and the seat to lower the handle bars far enough to fit in space. In does however easily fit in an SUV or pickup truck.

I love this thing!

This has made my life so much easier and has given me independence. It can go around town, through grass, over tree roots, along dirt paths and over fairly packed or plowed snow. It's not great on beach sand and takes a lot of work in slushy snow or on cobblestones.
Assembly was relatively easy, although the instructions sent with it were not as clear and detailed as the ones I found online. The packaging was minimal and the small bits were loose in the box creating the possibility that I could have lost some out the bashed in holes during transit.
It fits easily in the trunk of my compact car so long as I put the rear wheel in first. My one complaint would be that the mechanism that lets you release or lock in the steering column isn't very smoothly made and it can be quite difficult to get to release. Aside from this glitch, the overall quality is very high and it's a huge improvement on the typical 4-wheeled knee walkers.
I recommend getting a drink holder for it, as it may not occur to you in advance that two hands on the steering means no hands for your tea or coffee cup.

In theory, this should have been a welcome switch from the agony of using crutches for long periods of time. I was so looking forward to increased mobility from this device that my disappointment was likely magnified from my initial attempt to ambulating with the kneeRover. Sadly, I felt less secure on this unit, perpetually felt like I was going to fall over, and, having suffered an injury that prompted the purchase of the KneeRover, the last thing I desired was another injury. The wobble from each "step" was truly nerve wracking. Maybe four wheels would add stability? Great idea but did not work for me.
Only two complaints.

Overall the product is worth the money to not be on crutches for months following foot surgery. With that being said, there are a few flaws with the design. The biggest flaw is with the hinge which allows the steering column to fold for transport. The hinge isn't as precisely manufactured as it should be so there is a slight wobble while scootin around. Secondly there is a spring loaded peg on the hinge which needs to be depressed to fold the steering column. This peg is nearly impossible the press with my sausage fingers so I have to use keys or another narrow object to action it.
Overall I would recommend.
