Horizon Fitness T101-04
NC BeachGurl•July 25, 2016
Had a ProForm treadmill for more than 12 years that finally gave up the ghost and intended to replace it with another ProForm. Use my treadmill on average 3 times a week for interval training, walking and running....err....slogging for 30-60 minutes per workout and didn't want to spend a fortune. After some research the Horizon T101-04 came out ahead in value versus performance, options and customer satisfaction, though haven't had it long enough to experience everything it has to offer yet. Like the pre-set workouts -- need to use the instruction manual to decipher how to use them and what happens during the workout. The motor is as quiet as advertised however the belt is noisy -- owner's manual instructs using half the oil provided but users recommend using it all to minimize belt noise. Took several tries to get the belt tight enough so it didn't slip forward during workouts which is always a big Yikes! when you are walking or running so haven't used the other half of the oil yet. The display is easy to read, the fan puts out some decent air and the cup holders are big enough for wide bodied cups and will even accommodate handles. Really like the quick speed and incline controls over up/down buttons when using the manual mode. It was very easy to put together and I assembled it alone. Platform folds at an angle and handles are short which makes using the wheels to move it difficult if not impossible (or at least I haven't figured it out). Love the platform lift and lower hydraulic assist, raising and lowering the platform is a breeze. The platform cushioning is significantly better than my ProForm 535. Speaker volume is loud enough to hear music even when running and really like not using headphones. Had some issues with delivery -- website said threshold, delivery driver said driveway. Luckily help was available get it into the house. This treadmill is not as heavy as my old ProForm -- not sure if that's a good thing or not but thought it worth mentioning. Overall, happy with the performance of the treadmill so far.
This is a fantastic treadmill for any price and certainly great at $800 ...

This is a fantastic treadmill for any price and certainly great at $800 in the door. Two friends helped me assemble this; it was ready in less than an hour. This treadmill is quiet, rugged, (I have pre-teens in the house) and has everything I need to keep my already varied fitness routine just that; I love to mix it up at will. Previously I purchased from Nordic Track and had a nightmarish experience; I will not ever deal with that company again. Amazon and now, Horizon have my trust. The way this machine runs, I doubt it will need replacing for many years to come.
Worth the money

So far I love it. I've had it for a little over two months now and I use it 2-4 times a week. I was originally planning to buy a $400 treadmill instead but started have reservations after studying the pictures. The cheaper one looked a little rickety and, well, cheap. I can tell you this one feels very solid and well-designed. And I like the width of the belt...I was concerned that the cheaper alternative's belt would be too narrow.
I had a little trouble with the belt making noise when I first put it together but the instruction booklet tells you how to get the belt lined up perfectly. Once the belt is on there correctly, it's very quiet. I also like the fact that that it doesn't just stop after 60 minutes, like other treadmills I've used. I'm not sure what happens after 99 minutes because I haven't gone that long yet, but I can assure you that it goes well past 60 minutes without making you start over. And there are buttons you can use to quickly get it up to the speed you want, you don't have to hold down the arrows for a long time to make that happen. If you want 6.0 mph, you push the 6 button. If you want to go 6.5 mph, you push the 6 button and hold down the up arrow for a second to move it up 0.5 more mphs. Oh, and the fan is great! You just push a button and you immediately get a cool blast of air in your face. Little things, I know, but those little things are what make a grueling run bearable sometimes.

Great treadmill for the price!

I love this treadmill. It runs smooth and quiet, and is large enough for my 6'3" son to run on. The only feature I miss is being able to make your own program - even the lowest level preset programs peak at too fast a pace for me (my legs are short!) so I can't use them, but I supposed more expensive models offer that feature. Folding is easy and safe, but really not all the helpful and not worth having it since it doesn't fold up 90 degrees. But for the price a great model!
Treadmill has software bug which causes treadmill to fail - 2014
Amazon Customer•December 15, 2014
First, let me say that I really like this treadmill, however it is now dead awaiting back-ordered parts due to a software bug that is/was present in the shipped treadmill. I purchased this treadmill in March of 2014, so they may have fixed it in the mean time. It was delivered on time, assembled easy, and I have been using it without problem until this month (December). The control panel now says lube belt, which I have done, and despite following the directions to clear the message, it will not go away, and the treadmill will not operate. I called customer service, they told me that it was a software error that they know about, and that they will ship me a new console in a little more than a month! I realize that things happen, and sometime great products will have bugs. However, I registered this treadmill after purchasing. I would have expected some contact from the company when they learned that they shipped me a faulty treadmill. It has now been 9 months into my 12 month warranty, and despite the fact that the company knew I was sitting on a time bomb, they did nothing to pro-actively tell me that there was an issue and took no steps to fix it. I can only hope that had this issue popped up after my 12 month warranty expired that they would have still replaced the console, but I am not so sure.
Update January 2018. New console also failed. So they sent me a new treadmill, so that was a happy outcome, until today, when the replacement stopped. I wish I could say it is because I used it so much, but I am out of shape and used it only intermittently. Two treadmills, 3 consoles, all failed.
