Great saw for the $$$
Amazon CustomerJuly 18, 2016
I've been using this saw for about 2 years. I bought it to cut aluminum, PVC and stainless steel and brass. I rigged up some plastic sheeting and bolted an outfeed table to the side of the saw so that I can secure the stuff being cut. Vibration of the cutting material causes the blade to bind in the cut which then causes the blade to come off the drive wheel. If you can control vibration the saw works like a champ. I'm running through stacks of thin material so my blade that works best is a 14-16tpi which looks about like the teeth on a hack saw blade. No real issues on the lubrication side of things. If the saw is on a flat surface the cutting fluid makes its way back down to the tank. I've made a couple of messes by not watching the sieve that keeps cuttings out of the tank. If you plug the sieve you get cutting fluid all over the floor. Saw has plenty of power for my needs and only struggles to start if I have the blade on too tight. Changing blade speeds is easy and I can do it without tools. You might find yourself playing with blade thickness to reduce heat and improve cutting speed. Make sure you adjust the guide wheels to the thickness of the blade otherwise you'll not be able to keep the blade on the saw. Tech support at Dake is great. I usually get Mark on the phone and he is extremely knowledgeable. If you are looking for more info, check in with your local saw blade guy; not your local big box retailer.
