This is perhaps one of the worst purchases I ever made on Amazon
Anthony McGirr✓ Verified PurchaseDecember 8, 2017
This is perhaps one of the worst purchases I ever made on Amazon. I was excited to get this base, but my first impression right out of the box was how cheaply made it appeared to be. While it's made of metal, it's really thin and bends under moderate weight. I didn't even get through my first night! Only ten minutes after I set it up and had my bed put together, the middle support literally broke right off and my bed collapsed. If you can imagine your bed collapsing downward in the middle, it tweaked my back a little and has been sore all weekend.

I was able to get a refund though, but it took some fighting to get it. They just wanted to replace it and I told them I would never buy this product again.
Solid platform frame, but instructions have an issue.

Been using this for several months now and it's great. Especially since I'm a big guy and I got tired of having to buy a new air bed every month because of it, haha.

One thing though. The instructions leave out a step in that you need to stick screws at two points at the edge of the bed to get them together. I spent about 30 minutes trying to get them together and failing since there's screws on the side keeping them from being flush to each other. Had to ding a star for that.

Otherwise, it's pretty solid
Solid and compact frame, good for occasional use

I use this as the frame for a guest bed along with Milliard 6-Inch Memory Foam Tri-fold Mattress with Ultra Soft Removable Cover with Non-Slip Bottom - Full.

Unpacking:
The full size came as two identical, independent frames that were packaged in a single box. The frames themselves were completely covered in a thin film of dust/residue with a few surface rust spots that looked as though rusty liquid had dripped on it. It took a few minutes of wiping with a damp cloth, but everything came off without issue.

Assembly/Disassembly:
Assembly was relatively quick and easy. Basically unfold each frame (3 folds: frame in half, front set of legs, rear set of legs), secure the legs in position by swinging out the supports and fastening them to the frame with the wing nuts, then attaching the two frames together with the supplied screws. A screwdriver is helpful for the last step. Disassembly is simply the reversal of these steps, with the compacted frames fitting easily back in the original packaging for storage.

Performance:
The frame is marketed as "Heavy-Duty". I don't intend to test that claim but can say that it has performed well under occasional use. The frame seems sturdy, all fasteners are holding in place, and I haven't noticed any creaking or other noises. One thing to note is that the frame doesn't have any lips around the edges, so expect the mattress to move around somewhat. Your experience may vary depending on your particular mattress/boxspring combination.

Overall:
I was looking for a compact folding frame that I could quickly deploy for guests, and this frame meets those needs quite well. The condition of the frame out of the packaging was a little disappointing, but it was purely cosmetic and easily resolved.
Look elsewhere, this is pure junk.

New update: 2nd frame started squeaking and sagging big time. There is a huge dip from sleeping, I had to put some scrap wood I had on hand to prevent further dipping, but the wood wasnt meant for the purpose. Still recommend looking elsewhere, I am in the market for a new platform frame with more stability under high weight.

Update: this has been used for 4 months, currently- and the squeaking has NOT started thus far. I think using a wrench to tighten the [hand tighten] wing nuts made a big impact. The metal has warped slightly, but nothing drastic. I am going to continue using it for a while longer before I update my headline.

I went through and read up on many different bed frames that did not require a box spring, as I wanted the height, but ability to have some storage below. I am a big person, so when I saw the weight rating on this, figured It would be a long lasting item. After using it for 2 months, I realize many of the reviews are likely from recent purchasers that did not have a chance to break in the frame.

Here is my experience- positives: it was simple to assemble. It is lightweight so it was a one person job to do anything with it. It has space below that you can put baskets or boxes for some extra storage.

Negatives: one of the thin rods detached from the main part pf the frame. This happened on the side that my partner uses, and he is an average weight man. The support brackets are held on with wing nuts, and the wing nuts kept coming loose, causing the brackets to detach. The overall little thin rods and main frame, did not hold up to my weight. It started drooping and the boxes I am using for storage, would get stuck, even though they fit fine when I started using them. One last thing that is bringing me to leave this review, the frame squeaks. Terribly. It doesn't do it right away out of the box, but within a couple of weeks, it squeaks with every movement.

With the above information, I did try to contact the manufacturer about their "3-year warranty" via the email address they state to contact, with no reply within 10 days or so. Thankfully Amazon has amazing customer service and were able to exchange my frame for me, but I am pretty sure, I will encounter the same issues this time around.

I will likely be purchasing a different type bed and frame in a few months, due to this failure at providing the support needed.

Also, if you are heavy-set people, I would also suggest staying away from this. I am no where near the weight limit on this frame, but it should definitely hold up far better if it does allow 4000lbs evenly distrubuted weight (which it doesn't).
Great bed frame for a great price, very happy with the quality

I've only had the mattress that goes on this bed frame for a short time so far so this review is just my initial impressions and I'll update if needed in the future. So far I'm really happy with this frame, it has plenty of storage space underneath and seems to be built very solidly. As other reviewers have said it literally takes more time to take it out of the box than it does to put together: simply unfold the two halves (I got the California King frame, I believe the twin just has one fold out section), unfold the legs on either end, swing the supports onto the already placed bolts, and tighten the wing nuts. Repeat for the other half and then position the two halves next to each other insert the included large bolt into one side, put the rubber/plastic spacer on the bolt (between the two metal frames) then push the bolt through the other half and tighten the wing nut on the end, and then finally repeat on the other end. I did find that I needed a Phillips head screwdriver for this step to fully tighten the screw/bolt that holds the halves together, and I suspect that this extra tightening should prevent excess squeaking in the future. I've attached pictures showing dimensions and spacing as well, I currently have my memory foam mattress right on top of it and I haven't noticed any sagging, but I'm prepared to put 1x4 slats between the metal wires if it seems to be necessary in the future.

Overall I am very happy with this frame. The price was perfect, it seems very sturdy (I'm 6'2" and 320 pounds, so this was important to me), and it could not have been easier to put together.

Feel free to comment with any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
