Great product, great company

There is a reason you see like 95% of hikers with this. It's a great piece of gear. Pretty much essential. And from what I can tell, the company itself is also pretty topnotch, working with organizations to get these in the hands of people in rural third world villages with undrinkable water the world over. If you ever go hiking or camping, this is almost a necessity. So go ahead and get one. And even if you don't hike or camp... you never know when society is gonna collapse and you might end up thirsty at some point. Best to be prepared!
Worked great!

Worked great for our trip! Very glad I got it. Consider bringing an extra plastic water bottle that you can screw the filter on in case you loose or break the bag. My bag worked great, but probably best to have a backup plan.
Perfect for on the go

Good except for one thing

I've had a few of the Sawyer minis and generally they are good, except for one thing. The white 'garden hose' style washer is too firm/stiff. I had chronic problems getting this washer to seal. Flipped it over and found a slight improvement. Once getting home, I put a softer washer in and ALL the leaking problems stopped. So I will try this other model (dual threaded Sawyer). But when it comes, I'll take the washer out and see how stiff it is. If not soft enough, will toss it and put a softer washer in. Will also test it before hitting the trail. Last summer used a similar looking filter only to find that the brand new, unused filter, would not let more than a drop of water through every 15 seconds or so. Backwashing, and putting serious pressure on the dirty water bag (water was clean) did very little. Had to use someone else's filter for the next 3 days.
I've been using pumps, aqua mira, and subsequently gravity filters since they first came out. At this time, gravity filters, and Sawyer in particular, are my 'go to' filter for backpacking. Hope that helps someone else who experienced leaking issues.

Exceeded my expectations by far... seriously

I was looking to add to my hiking loadout and having never used these in the past I was mostly going off of reviews and videos on YT.
i used the squeeze bag and that thing can really produce a ton of drinkable water straight from a river in a surprisingly short amount of time. get it, you can even attach it to a bottle and adapter the filter right to the threads. too easy.
