The pump stopped working within 6 months and no way to contact the seller.
Excellent coolers and they save money

We love this cooler. We actually purchased one to try it, then purchased a second one since it works so well., Our house is long and somewhat divided in half. We cut holes in the house and permanently mounted them, one on each side of the wall that runs down the center. They are extremely efficient, and cool the 2400 sq ft house nicely, and we generally just run one at a time. We live in the low desert, and they cool efficiently up to about 110-115 degrees. We have very hard water here, so we installed a purge pump for each, and just purchased a cheap pump from Home Depot that works great. It is pre-wired and automatically runs the purge pump on its own timer, so you don't have to purchase an actual purge pump, just a standard pump. We have been using them for 3 years now, and are just changing the pads. They run 24/7 all summer and our house is quite comfortable. They have also saved us hundreds each month on the electric bill, not needing to use the AC.

I wouldn't buy this cooler. I replaced a similar CFM conventional evaporative cooler with this slim model. The pad area is too small and gets overwhelmed by the fan. This lowers the operating efficiency even at low humidity (10%) outside. I've had swamp coolers for 40 years in all parts of the country so I do have some experience. The conventional cooler, which I had for 8 years would keep the house near 76 on days where it was 108 and 10% humidity outside ( my experience is a 30 degree drop when conditions are optimal). This slim model has the house at 81 when it was 108 and 10% humidity outside. I've taken it all apart and yes the pads are wet and there are no blockages. And don't even try it on high fan speed because it just blows warm air. This is another symptom of insuffcient pad area. This unit is more suited to Albuquerque where relative humidity is around 6% most of the time.
Pretty "cool" unit, but...

Pros...
Lightweight. I was able to install this by myself and I have some disability issues.

Will never rust out like the metal "swamp coolers" I grew up with in the desert area around El Paso where everyone had evaporative coolers when I was a kid and everyone had to fight rust in their coolers and do lots of maintenance.

Compact design doesn't "pooch-out" very far out of the exterior wall and interior wall.

Although one reviewer stated these are "very loud" I don't think they are and I suggest they are "not noisy."

Cools great in dry parts of the country.

Cons...

The electrical control unit is made in 🇨🇳 and mine quit working 6 weeks after I installed it. I purchased (May 8, 2017) a replacement unit that the customer support rep said was redesigned. Still made in 🇨🇳 and probably in some sweat shop that doesn't have a quality-control department. I hope this one (set me back $75) will last at least a year. I've owned my original cooler 2.5 years now.

The plastic snaps that hold the small electric control unit in place, two out of four broke when I pulled them back gently to get the controller out. (This is a cheap design flaw and at the bare minimum, the controller should be held in place by some hefty screws instead.

After 18 months of the outside part being exposed to sunlight, I'm noticing the plastic isn't holding up really great, and I suspect the factory in China does NOT add a UV inhibitor additive in the "soup" that the plastic parts are made out of. In fact today as I was working on the interior part of the cooler, I broke one of the slots on the vent side that is not even exposed to sunlight.

The evaporative pads work really great BUT they are expensive and you can't buy them at your local hardware store, like you can for a regular "swamp cooler."

Bottom line...
I use this cooler in a metal shed near Abilene, TX that is painted dark green and gets wicked-hot. I built the shed to put my car in while it is parked and charging and since it is an EV (electric vehicle) it's critical that the car not get hot when it's charging. This cooler works GREAT in the shed for keeping my EV from melting and the large lithium battery from heat. Typically, when it 100 degrees outside, I can measure a 30 degree drop on the remote temperature guage I leave in my car to keep tabs on the heat.

Would I install one of these in my home? Answer is "no" unless I lived in the desert area from El Paso to Yuma, AZ. Where I live is a little too humid for this to be comfortable for me to use in my house, but it works great in my car shed and does not use anywhere near the energy that conventional refrigerated air conditionsers use.

Please note the attached photos show this unit as I am installing the new controller (in the inside of my shed) and a new water pump on the outside of the shed. The outside housing is a real "bear" to remove and install alone. The inside part is difficult to reinstall because of the extensive conglomeration of wires that have to literally stuffed back into tight and difficult to reach voids inside the front facing.
A VERY UNSATISFACTORY PRODUCT

The electrical control was defective, I requested a replacement and I had to pay for shipping to get the replacement in less than two weeks, really bad service. the low setting is way too high and very noisy. There is no way to direct the direction of the air into the room. The whole unit is poorly made and not an easy install. I WOULDN'T BUY THIS UNIT AGAIN AND I EXPECT I WILL REPLACE IT WITH A MORE SUITABLE UNIT BEFORE NEXT SUMMER.
