Amazing Once You Get the Hang of It

I've used this rake for years, but I remember it took me a while to figure out how to use it efficiently. So, you may need to be patient. it really does pick up a large amount of leaves without straining your back. I have no trouble with wet leaves, but sometimes if the leaves are particularly heavy, I clamp the rake with my hand. It's still easier than bending over and lifting. In fall when the leaves are falling fast, I'll still use a metal rake to gather leaves in piles because it's quicker for a large yard. But, I use only this rake to pick up and bag those leaves.

i am glad i listened to the positive reviews and not the negative. this rake was a back saver... very easy to use once you remembered to keep the handle glide in the correct position.( ie pull toward you to close and push away to reopen the rake). only trouble i had was putting the pin in to connect the two plastic pieces.. but my husband did it in 5 seconds. i would suggest to the manufacturer to mail it with the pieces already connected. the plastic is very sterdy and i would definitely recommend this product.
Nifty

No assembly instructions included : ( a little tough having to slide hinge pin back in between jaws of rake. Was worried I was going to bend it! Does take a little muscle to get that pin in, along with the yoke that attaches and opens/ closes the rake. Beyond that, easy to use and definitely a back saver. No more bendin over.
Works very good. picks up the leaves and trimmings like it ...

Works very good. picks up the leaves and trimmings like it is suppose to .But is sure is cheaply made, really thin plastic. I really don't think its going to last, it is that thin and cheap plastic....but for now it sure works good. ..........update 10/15/2017.......If you know how to use it (like using a front end loader).....I'm 79 years old and have a hard time stooping over to pick up the leaves.....with this rake (even though its very cheaply made ) you have to be careful .....I've had mine for 3 years now..... very satisfied...and it is still all together.
Difficult to handle and only lasted two weekends

Used it for two weekends and the long pole separated from the clamshell during the second weekend. Attempted to repair with a screw from the metal handle into the plastic flange and some Gorilla Glue. After repair the metal pole split off the clamshell with the first stroke. I was having trouble before with this because the metal pole rotates and makes it difficult to control from the pile to the bag. I've been forced to go back to pitchforks and shovels to clean my yard.
