Easy to install, upgrade your hardware

My friend installed his for me last weeken, and fortunately we had read the reviews about upgrading the hardware prior to installation. My rack was installed in a concrete wall with tapcons and we had no issue. I like that the brackets are a bit wide so I can fit my paddle along with my paddleboard, yet the board is still flush against the wall.

The rack is sturdy. That is about the only thing i can say nice about it. The instruction are worthless. Dont even need to read them. Here what is say: place it on the wall with two top screws in the stud. And when they say two top screws in stud. They mean the center top hole(there are three holes on the top end), and the hole half way down the rack. Also they dont tell you the size to make the hole for the sheet rock anchors that they provide.
I would recommend buying longer screws for the two that go into the stud, if there is sheet rock in between the rack and the stud.
And the screw that holds the two pieces togwther sticks out so far, it is for sure to scratch the kayak. So i would recommend putting something over it to make a barrier in between the kayak and the screw.

Great bars, strong, good price.

These are a great solution for garage kayak storage. The bars are very sturdy. While not recommended I actually have my 16 foot boat on the hangers and two straps simply hooked into them holding my 12' boat below. The bars are that strong. I was actually surprised at the quality when I pulled them out of the packaging. The protective layer on the hooks look like it should hold up for a few years at least.
Beware of faulty screws, rack work great.

These racks work great. Able to stack my 2 kayaks to keep my patio clear and tidy. Had to deduct 2 stars because the screws were faulty. Warning, use your own screws!! The first head broke off in my fence. Thinking it was a fluke, I tried a second. That one snapped too. Good thing I had spare deck screws on hand.

Hooks seem really great but I refuse to give a good review when the install hardware snapped on all screws. If you buy, which I do reccomend the hooks, buy your own screws. Of all the pieces to cheap out on they cheaped out on the cheapest but most crucial piece.
