Nice looking and comfortable + waterproof
TroyMay 17, 2017
Mainly wanted to say that I had to go with a 1/2 size larger for a comfortable fit, but my foot width is a little larger than the normal medium. There have been some boots where I had to go with a 1/2 size smaller, so it really depends on the brand. I wore these today with my thick socks and my feet didn't overheat, so they do breath pretty well. I like that they're waterproof since I live in Colorado and will be in snow at some point with them. The tread seems like they grip really well and aren't noisy or anything.
Great weather proofing bad boot

Boots seem to be of quality material but the build not so much. The waterproofing is awesome I have wore them through practically the entire Colorado winter so far and my socks haven't gotten wet from the snow once. I haven't noticed any peeling or pulling away from the soul and the laces haven't started to fray or tear.

Now for the bad. The first day that I wore them it was snowing outside and there was quite a bit of snow on the ground. Ever since then there has been an insane squeaking with every step that I take and I have not been able to get it to go away no matter what I try. Short of putting it in the dryer I have tried practically everything. I am a medical courier and spend most of my time walking around on tile floors in labs and hospitals and I must say I am definitely without a doubt the loudest person in the building. To the point where people are turning and looking. Even outside the squeak is so bad people from across the street can hear it. There seems to be something wrong with the soul on the right foot as its pushes into one spot at the front of my foot and hurts quite a bit. I even went and replaced the insoles thinking that would fix the problem and it did not. The left foot seems to come up too high on the arch or just isn't made wide enough as it feels like I'm standing on the side of the boot.

I have owned several pairs of shoes expensive and budget prices as well as boots. Never before have I experienced these issues. I really wanted to love these boots and I could probably get used to the squeaking but the arch problem on the left foot and the feeling like I've got a rock stuck in the right foot is just unbearable after a few hours and if it wasn't for the fact that half my work day is spent driving to and from locations I probably couldn't even wear them. Again the waterproofing is amazing and if this is a pair of boots you're looking to just wear for a few hours a day to keep your feet dry I would say go for it but if you're looking to buy a pair of boots that you can wear for 8 hours or more a day I would definitely steer clear. I will unfortunately be needing to look elsewhere for another pair next season.
Very handsome Hiking Boot of great quality!

I purchased these hiking boots for husband, who wore out his old pair of a different brand, and he loves them! I always, always, always read reviews from others who've purchased the product I'm looking to buy and I'm glad I did. There is very informative information provided by reviewers on this particular boot and I took their suggestions and their experience and it served me well.

My husband has a narrow foot but it is so rare we can find boots in a narrow width without spending a fortune. However, these boots are a "normal" medium width so with a thicker sock, they actually fit him quite nicely. And please take note of others comments/suggestions to size up! My husband always wears a size 8; no exception! But given what others stated about the sizing and their experience that when ordering their regular size they find their toes right up against the toe of the boot, I opted to order a size 8-1/2 and am glad I did! My husband will be wearing these hiking boots primarily in the colder months (which is a good part of the year here in Wisconsin!) so he will also be wearing thicker socks. When he tried these on, a size 8-1/2 / medium width, they fit perfect.

These are also a high quality boot. And, I might mention, were half the price of the hiking boots I purchased for him about 10 years ago! He had been in the military and has worn Hi-Tec in the past so he was familiar with the brand. He looked them over, very closely, for any defect and could find none. He loves the color and the support. Again, as one other reviewer stated...the laces are very thick and not likely to keep the boot tied if simply tying them with a regular bow-knot. Instead of going out and purchasing different laces, I suggested he simply double-knot them (I do on every pair of shoes/boots I own) and that took care of the problem. He wore them the rest of the day and they never became un-tied nor did he have sore feet from new boots! He hasn't tested out the waterproof feature yet but he has no plans to go puddle-jumping either. But the snow will fly soon enough here and they'll be tested then. If we find the boots do not deliver on this feature, I'll certainly update my review.

In my opinion, these are very handsome hiking boots and I've no doubt he'll get plenty of use from them. The price is awesome, they are high quality and the traction looks very serious; no slipping expected with these!
LOVE these boots

I got these for my fiance to hike with in Yosemite this summer, and they were worth EVERY penny! I have the women's version, and they both kept our feet dry and protected. Other reviewers were saying they run wide, but neither of us had a problem (we wore thick hiking socks). He can wear his all day long (we did Half Dome) and they never bother his feet, and definitely aided in our climb. A fabulous hiking boot at an unbeatable price!

Wore this less than 5 times. i wore it to walk really fast for 10 hour work shifts. The lace hocks were benched on first day. After about 4 days or so. One is broken.
I don't want spend $20 to return it to them.
