WORKED AWESOME - KEEP THEIFS AT BAY
THE LAW•March 10, 2017
Due to all of the crime that we have experienced, I have security cameras that let me watch once our property has been breached. I was over it! I found this beam type IF Red device and installed it thinking I would call police as a crime was in process.. 2:40am Sat my chime woke me. I picked up my device to see what was up...Nothing. Wondering what set it off, I went to the DVR the next evening. This is what I found. At 2:38am a Moving van/Uhall slowly stocked the neighbor hood. It passes my house, I can still see it parked at the corner due to the lights on the back roof of vehicle (brilliant move by thieves). I wait. Then a subject appears, checks the passenger door on the vehicle parked in front of the house on the street, walks up to check ours in the driveway, but he must notice something. It looks like he checks it out, steps over the IF line, sees the red light flash and decides to leave, checks the driver door of the vehicle in the street and goes on his way. Had he not have seen it, I would have been able to see him approaching then call the police. Yeah for this little device....Worth the $99.00 for sure.
As advertised

I received the product promptly and got what I ordered. Everything has worked the way it was promised. I wondered about false alarms because we have medium sized animals, javelina (think wild pig) that walk up our driveway on a regular basis. But so far, not a single false alarm and it works each time a car drives by it. So, I am very pleased with the product.
The sensor is about 80 feet from the receiver and goes through several interior walls and the metal garage doors. There was no issue with the connection between them. They connected the first time with zero issues in reception.
The only suggestion I have would be to make the screws on the sensor larger. I am afraid that as I change batteries in the future, I will lose them. They are some of the smallest screws I have seen. Make the screws bigger and I give 5 stars.

So far so good but I just installed it so I have no reliability data yet
Tommy Onion•December 11, 2016
I just finished installing this product so I cannot yet comment on the reliability it. I will give my initial impression. This is more expensive than most of the other alarms. I purchased it because of the high ratings in the product reviews.
The sensor housing looks cheap. That doesn't mean it won't be reliable but I would expect better cosmetics for the hundred dollars I paid for it. My biggest objection is the ball joint that is used to aim the sensor. It is far too loose. I received and e-mail from the vendor that sold it to me about the time it was delivered telling me about the product. In it, it had this sentence: "If your sensor doesn't stay pointed in the direction that you aim it or the ball joint is loose, you can easily fix this by tightening the screw located on the back of the mounting plate." This is not true. I tightened it as much as I could and it still was loose. I suppose one could put a drop of glue on the ball joint to keep it in place but that should not have to be necessary.
The instructions were a little hard to follow and there were a few minor mistakes in them. For example, it said see section "G" to set some of the advanced features. The settings were described in section "I." Also the instructions showed three sets of four DIP switches each set of switches labeled 1 to 4 to set the advanced features whereby on the unit there was one set of 12 DIP switches numbered 1-12. Most people wouldn't be changing these advanced features anyway (I didn't) but, like I said, it was somewhat hard to follow.
In Amazon's product description it says, "4 "zones" allowing up to 12 sensors per zone." But according to the instructions there can be no more than 4 sensors per zone,16 total. But even that seems to me more sensors than I can imagine anyone using.
There are plenty of melodies to choose from - 32 in all. A different melody can be set for each zone so one doesn't have to look at the sensor to know what zone has been tripped if one learns what melodies go with what zones.

Emits a red light when detects something.
Code five 360.•September 22, 2015
It works fine.. But don't put it too high. It has a narrow beam. Make sure you set it for above the knees to avoid pet's setting it off..I had to hide it to avoid it from being seen..Be aware when it detects something a red light can be seen by passers who can take or destroy the product.
So far the detector has been very good at picking up vehicles and people in our drive ...
JimBob•September 21, 2015
We bought this unit to replace an older system that stopped working. So far the detector has been very good at picking up vehicles and people in our drive with a very few false alarms (birds or rabbits?) We initially purchased a system which had no options for selecting the alarm other than the volume and it sounded like a smoke detector which sent our dog running out of the house so we are very pleased with this feature. Our old system had an option of sounding a chime, turning on a light or both which we liked better and is why I only rate this alarm a four star. Otherwise, it's a five for quality and accuracy.
