I'm always dubious about technology that might work better in theory than in practice, but this antenna has made me a believer. We had to be right in front of our main gate and pointing directly at the old antenna for it to receive a signal from a remote inside a vehicle. The new antenna has no problem receiving a signal from across the street and we only need to point in its general direction. This is a terrific product. It was simple to put it together. It is well-made and should last a long time.

Antenna resolved problems with gate opening difficulties for years! Though we would never resolve our gate's inconsistent signal. We'd spend tons of time trying to get the signal to work and open the gate, especially during wet weather. The antenna works great, even though we're living next to the beach. We're able to signal the gate to open outside of 20-30 feet. Amazing! We were almost at the point of changing the whole system, and all it took was this antenna, saved me hundreds!!!

I replaced the original antenna on my Viking K2 gate operator. It extends the range about 100 feet from the antenna. The only real range limitation is on the hand held remote control or the transmitter in our cars. I was able to move the height of the antenna and increase the line of sight distance. Before I installed this antenna I could be sitting on the outside of the gate in my car and the gate would only sometimes receive the signal from the built in transmitter. The distance from the car to the antenna was about 10 feet. I am super pleased with the results. The only thing that could make this better would be to include a 10 foot or 15 foot coax cable instead of a 5 foot cable. I had to buy a seperate 10 foot cable to mount the antenna where it needed to be.
