Very happy with these, a fantastic value for the cost.

I don't have the ability to precisely measure the CRI (color rendering index) of these lights, but that is the only area where it falls short. Looking with a spectroscope, I can see there is a dip in the spectrum output between green and blue, and that it trails off rapidly toward the red end of spectrum. Light output resembles that of a standard fluorescent bulb. Not great for photography and certainly not something you want to use for a vanity (skin tones look a little pale under them). In addition to the CRI drawback the 3000k temperature is a little more toward blue than standard tungsten lightbulb.

That said, they are compact and inexpensive and very reliable. As accent lights, they are fantastic.

Note that to illuminate a full strip you will need a 2A 12v power supply. Every group of 3 LEDs draws 20ma.

The LED strand is exactly what I expected. It came with a pigtail already attached to one end to take a supposedly 12v power supply. it also came with an additional pigtail and two splice blocks. I will say, I had little luck with the splice blocks. I wouldn't trust them over an extended period of time. A solution I came up with that others may benefit from is that I skinned back the silicone top layer to expose the contacts at the splice location. I applied a small amount of soldering paste to each contact and slide the end into the splice block. Then I touched my soldering iron to the top of the contacts in the splice block. Essentially, I soldered the strip to the splice block using a low temp soldering paste. This worked perfectly. I'll seal up the splice block ad ends of the strands with clear silicone caulk.
Other than that, these should do the job I needed them for.

Another had posted this as a potential replacement for a shop light. I disagree. these simply do not have enough light to do that or even come close to even basic florescent tubes. These LED's are less than 3/16 of an inch where others I have worked with are 3/8. Using all of these cut into three strips on a 6 foot board from 4 feet at it's highest intensity I find it is 110 lumens where using only two strips of the others on a 5 foot produce over 300 lumens [this is more like a real shop light].

Also I do not believe the double sided tape on these to be 3M in any shape or form [not sure if this was specified in the description] as the paper backing does certainly not have the 3M logo just an M or W? The tape is thick and easily pulls away from the strip if not careful.

At best these could be used for signage, fill or accent lighting.

I was remodeling my kitchen and wanted some under cabinet lighting. I don't like the bulky under cabinet lighting most hardware store sell and I knew strip lights would be the solution. I took advantage of my countertops not being installed yet to easily run the wires. I got the waterproof version of the strip lights because I was using them in a kitchen. The waterproof version is protected by a silicon coating. You will have to cut away the silicon to make the connections. You can make connections by soldering the wires to the strip light terminals or use the two included clips.

I liked the strip light so much I will be ordering again so I can do some custom interior lighting in my car.

I originally bought some of these to go into our 1986 camper conversion van, where they actually ended up being installed was our stairwell in the 104 year old house we live in. They were installed along the bottom of the stairwell & tucked away under the trim, now I should have enough to do the rest of the stairwell with leftovers for the van; if not I can always buy another roll or two. We plan to purchase more of these to use around the house in a few areas that sorely need some diffuse & discrete lighting, having it be 12v is great as I always seem to have a few too many 12v adapters that have collected of the years.

Combined these put out about as much light as the original 75 watt light source, just concentrated near our feet so we won't trip now! The adhesive backing on them seems to be holding to surfaces fairly well, there are no dead lights on any of the 6 reels we have bought. They also give you an extra F plug adapter & 2 couplers to join segments. Overall we're very satisfied with these bright little beauties, several friends are wanting some for themselves now!
