A new washer would cost ton's more and this Maytag seems like it's going to last a long time
I. P. Harrold•September 13, 2017
I used this on a badly rusted bottom rack and lightly rusted top rack, two coats - a day apart. In preparation, we Dremel'd all the rust off each spot.
After about a year, possibly less, the rusted areas were back along with the silverware damage. So, I finally paid $150 for a new bottom rack. and "repaired" the few spots similarly with ReRack on the top rack. At least I get a time of reprieve before replace the other rack, if it's still available! It IS an older Maytag. A new washer would cost ton's more and this Maytag seems like it's going to last a long time.

but mine works fine and it was only a few rusted spots

Buying new dishwasher racks are expensive. I considered buying a new dishwasher, but mine works fine and it was only a few rusted spots. This stuff worked amazing! We sanded and let the product cure. I have run the dishwasher without any issues. Also shared the bottle with my parents so they could also do touch ups. I am aware that it is a "patch" or fix. If the original rack covered in rubber had issues, this is bound to happen with this. It does beat spending money on a new rack for now and give me more use of my dishwasher before I am in need of a new one. Great stuff!!
Eh...

Very thick and difficult to apply. Not really holding up in areas that come in contact with dishes. Doing ok on other areas. Just buying us time till we get a new dishwasher
Hard to use product

Disappointed in product. This is the third time I purchased this item and each time the product has become gummy, thick and unmanageable. For whatever reason the brush always seems to be bent or misshapen. I gave it two stars because it does hold up in high heat temperatures inside the dishwasher.
Thick and goopy I gave up the dishwasher rack use and used it on my in-sink dish drainer.

Goopy and similar to very old, very thick nail polish, I realized it would require 2 coats to cover the tines of my dishwasher rack. After reading you must "remove rust from the tines of the rack before coating" I decided it required too much labor and decided not to chance it. (Need to find a spray version or a larger bottle of liquid coating!) Instead I used it to cover the in-sink metal dish drainer feet to prevent them from rusting and scratching my sink. (My initial idea was to coat the bottom of the in-sink rack to form a thin cushion but there was not nearly enough to accomplish this.)
