Great Design! And Great Customer Service!
Zaphod Beeblebrox✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 3, 2018
I bought two of these in January of 2016 and placed them on the shady side of the house. Yesterday I was putting the bikes away like I have done many times before and suddenly the handlebar busted through the side! At first I thought it was me having shoved a sharp edge or something into it but upon closer inspection, I noticed the fabric was rotted out. If you've ever seen a sun bleached convertible top that you can just push a hole into, you know what I'm talking about.

I have emailed Yardstash about the issue and will report back. For now, three stars because I don't know what's going to happen. I will say that the design of the Yardstash is great but at the price, it should last way longer than two years.

UPDATE: Yardstash responded with lightning quickness. They offered an excellent remedy for the situation and I am very happy. This great solution to a common problem has a great company backing it up.

One piece of advice: if you live in a high UV bombardment area like South Florida, Arizona or Texas go for the Yardstash IV which is way more resistant to sun damage.

Another thing to note.. my Yardstash III stood up to last year's hurricane without a scratch. To be clear, we didn't get the brunt of it, more like a strong tropical storm, but when properly anchored, they can take the punishment.
Nice solution to garage storage issue

Once long, long ago (3.5 years), a family moved from a tiny Manhattan apartment to a magical land called Texas where tiny things are banned. As the wife and husband drove down their new surburban streets, they vowed, unlike their neighbors, they would always park their cars in their garage--it was after all, larger than their entire former apartment. But things quickly got tricky--the suburbs are a dangerous place where clutter multiplies stealthily. What were they to do? Abandon those sacred vows?!? No, that would not do!

So we needed storage. There were so many options and none of them were cheap. They all seemed so permanent--where should we place them? How long would the dreadful HOA take to approve them? For 6 months we considered choice after choice but clutter was catching up to us. We were running out of time! And then I saw it--the Yardstash III. The people loved it. It was temporary but it could work. The family ordered it and lived happily ever as long as it will last.

P. S. For those of you wondering the metal bins with casters are from The Container Store. They are awesome and sturdy and fit perfectly side-by-side in the Yardstash III.
Crushed under snow

It seems like 12 inches of snow is too much snow. The roof buckled in. It was great until this... Perhaps better for states south of Virginia.
***EDIT*** They are honoring their warranty, and sending me a new one! All I had to do was contact them directly through their site. Great customer service!
Not for use over a long term - but GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE - updated after two years
I'm a mom✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 21, 2015
July 20, 2015: I ordered this 4 months ago. It was great until today. I went outside and there was a huge rip in it. I have two bicycles in it with a bicycle stand. We had a storm. Not a big storm mind you...a little storm. No straight line winds, no hurricane force gales, just a summer storm. In fact, the bicycle that I have on my porch and the canvas folding lawn chair were not even moved by this storm....not one inch. And yet, my $100 investment is now useless. I DO NOT recommend this for long term storage. Maybe to store a couple of bikes at a camp site while you are camping, to put up and take down and store, but not for use long term...definitely.

EDIT: July 31, 2015 - So after making my one star review, I read some of the other one star reviews and someone suggested that the company had a warranty. I contacted the company via email and they were EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE. I sent them pictures of the tear in my YardStash and not only did they send me a new one, but they also made recommendations for installation so that the tear does not happen again. When I installed, I guess I did not pull the corners taut enough. I have just received my NEW REPLACEMENT YardStash which I will install today - pulling taut the corners as recommended. We'll see how it holds up. I will try to post another review in a few months regarding the on going wear and tear.

EDIT: April 24, 2017 - so the new shed they sent is still doing great. I haven't noticed the leaks that some other people have. I live in Memphis and this shed is on the west side of the house so it gets some pretty heavy sun and wind. I am now going to buy a NEW shed to store my garden tools. These are a lot cheaper than the Rubbermaid versions and seem to hold up quite well. They are also pretty low profile so my homeowners association hasn't said anything (but when people put in the Rubbermaid versions without approval - they get a letter)
Updated Review After One Year
Marcel from Miami✓ Verified PurchaseJune 15, 2015
Update (one year later): I've been using this shelter daily for just over a year now. While it's still dry inside and works for its intended purpose, it is starting to fall apart. The tape that they use to waterproof the seams has begun to peel off. Also, the outside of the material has started to fade very badly. The shelter is in a shaded patio which is not exposed to direct sunlight for more than maybe 2 hours a day. Yet the sun has all but completely faded the green color. It's also made the material very stiff and brittle feeling. It's already started to break in a few places where things have rubbed up against it. I cannot imagine this shelter will last another year. Unless they improve the material, you should maybe pass on this. Check out the updated pics I added of what the shelter looks like now. As you can see, it's looking pretty worn after only one year.

---ORIGINAL REVIEW---

So far I really like the Yard Stash III. While I've only had it up for a little over a week, it's rained almost every day since then. And every time I check, my bikes are bone dry.

It was really easy to set up. I did it by myself in under an hour; and that includes the time it took to anchor it all in securely to the wall and floor. If you're considering not anchoring it down, I would suggest that you don't get it then. This shed is very top heavy and wobbly if it's not anchored down to at least the floor. However, I would strongly suggest that you anchor it to a wall as well. I feel like mine is super solid because it's been anchored at all the suggested points. We've had bad down pours and heavy winds here in Miami and it's held up without budging.

I would have liked to have given it 5 stars, but I'm deducting a star for a couple of small design flaws which I feel, if fixed, would make this shed perfect. The first thing I'd change is I'd make the floor out of a tougher material. The material they use for the rook is super thick and durable feeling. It's about twice as thick as the rest of the material. I would have made the floor out of the same material, because I'm worried about how the material will hold up after taking my bikes in and out 100's of times. But to be fair, there's been no sign of the floor not holding up yet.

The second thing I would change is the hole in the back for securing the shed's contents to an external fixture. It's basically just a hole with a flap. The problem is that it leaves an open gap in an otherwise sealed barrier. This could easily be remedied by making some sort of sock-like portal with elastic at the end so you can feed a chain through and still have a seal.

However, other than the two items I mentioned above, the build quality and materials seems to be top notch. Time will tell how well it will hold up, but I feel confident I'll at least get a couple good years out of it. And in the brutal hot and rainy weather of Miami, that's saying a lot.
