This film works just the way I thought it would. Most of the negative reviews I read are examples of people expecting a magic film, if you don't know how this stuff works, read the negative reviews. It applies like window tint, this was my first time doing it, but it wasn't hard to figure out using the instructions. It is like any other window film, if there is a bright light behind it, you will be able to see through it. I used in on the backside of some aquariums and it startles me sometimes because it is exactly like looking at a mirror. I didn't use it on windows, but I can tell you that if it is dark outside and you have the lights on inside, then people can see in, that should be expected. If you wanted to make a mirror for an interrogation room, this would be great. The interrogation room is always brightly lit and the observation room is dark, maximizing the mirror effect. If the light in the observation room is turned on, then you can see through from both sides. If you don't get how this works, watch a cop show on TV.

I could not be happier! I have double sliding doors in my living room that gets beat by the hot hot Texas sun in the afternoons and evenings. It would be 7-8 degrees hotter than what the thermostat was on and was almost unbearable to allow my kids to sit in play as I watched them. I had to make several seams in the film because I needed it longer than it was wide, but even with 3 seams on each door's window, it looks great and you can barely see the seams! I waited 2 days to cut off the excess film so make sure it wouldn't slip or move when I trimmed it with the blade. I used an almost empty windex bottle to mix the water and dish soap. and make sure you pull your hair back as you apply it because I had to pull off, pull off strands of hair and then reapply. lol

We put this film on our top floor that gets a lot of direct sunlight, so it not only gets warmer because of heat rising throughout the day, it gets toasty after being baked for several outside. After putting up the film, we immediately noticed a difference in the temp, which was what we wanted. All in all, it's a cost effective way to help with energy efficiency.

I purchased this to allow my cats to look out the front window and still provide the human staff with a bit of privacy. It works very well for this during the day and doesn't darken the front room too much. The application was less painful than I had thought it would be, but definitely requires two people. From the outside during the day it just looks like a reflective window over a dark room and you cannot seen inside.

I love this, You cannot see anything from outside during the day and at night still darker than without it specially if the lights inside are off, but we close the blinds at night anyways. I need this to be able to keep the blinds open during the day to have the light come in and have privacy at the same time. Also looks like a mirror. Great product! Need patience and skill to get it installed but it's worth it.
