Subwoofer didn't work upon receiving it from UPS...
Fantastic Indoor Sub

As other reviewers have said, this is a great indoor sub. I might consider going with the Mackie SRM1850 Mackie SRM Series SRM1850 1600W 18-Inch Powered Subwoofer if you plan on using outdoors. It works, but you find yourself wanting to turn it up beyond its limit.
Great Sub for a great price

Crazy loud sub, recently had a party and it could be heard from four blocks away with the thump 15s. Great speaker
Great sub has pros and cons

I am a mobile DJ and love this sub even though it's only 600w RMS it sounds good paired with the thump 15s or the SRM 650's.....built with an all wood enclosure it is heavy around 100 pounds....I have used mine over a year on countless gigs..and have done a direct side by side with SRM 1801s spend the extra money on the thump...........the only thing I recommend is taking the amp and back of enclosure off and putting some weather stripping in-between the parts as mackie did not do a very good job with this. That is my only complaint however after you do this it seals the box and let's all bass out the ports and really improves the sound quality
Pros
Cost $700
Sound quality not just for the price but also compared to other more expensive units it holds its own
Outputs you have the option to send full signal for linking more subs or loudspeaker's and a high pass output designed for use with thump series loudspeaker's

Cons
1.)Heavy 100 lbs a pain in butt to haul in and of gigs especially if parking isn't that close
(Hey Mackie a little consideration for all of us who lug your gear around would be ok with me. casters on the sub or at least on the cover would be a huge improvement)
2.) No real sound proofing on back removable piece although this is an easy fix for us consumers. After a few gigs you hear the wood rattle the only thing mackie put between the two wood pieces is a very thin insulation strip and there are 4 nuts and bolts, the nuts back themselves off which creates a nasty rattle and makes the sub sound bad even though a little weather stripping cures this I think mackie should have done this at the factory.
3.)claims 1200w when 1200w is max sub runs at 600rms eventhough most manufacturers claim the max wattage I put it as a con Cuz it literally is the manufacturer claiming the max wattage to try and get you (or less experienced) Into believing it is the RMS rating
Shame on you mackie take a note from QSC in this aspect

All in all I am very happy with this sub and I hope this helps you make an informed purchase
