The deer in our neighborhood couldn't care less if we were standing right next to them. I put these deer repellants up near the vulnerable areas of our yard, and watched a doe carefully navigate away from them. I can only hope that their effectiveness continues! Love the deer, but hate the destruction of my tender vegetation. Can't we all just get along? This might be the answer.

My garden area was a sleeping place for a small herd of deer. When we decided to convert the area to a food garden, my neighbors joked that we were putting out a dinner buffet for the evening guest. Well, not one deer grazed within the area protected by Deer Off. We did plant peppers, eggplants, tomatoes and sunflowers in other parts of the yard and they were taken out by the deer. However these areas did not have any Deer Off, we were counting on marigolds to do the trick but it didn't.

I'm glad you asked. I ordered 2 pkg of 6 devices each but received two pkg of FOUR devices and 6 mounting wires each. I complained to the maker, and they referred me to Amazon. I complained to Amazon, and am yet to receive a response. Couple-three months.
I put the eight devices I did receive in my 30x30' garden, along with a 7' white ribbon perimeter fence and a pair of nighttime flashing red LED arrays (simulating blood or fire to the deer [depending on what expert you believe].) With this multi-layer defense, just now the tomato crop is coming in and it is delicious!
You got concrete reasons for a one and you got ambiguous reasons for a five. So the net is a three.

This stuff works for us. It's not fool proof and you need several but if you place them strategically it keeps the deer away. I learned about the product from a Master Gardener who swears by it.
I bought everything Menards had one Sunday and followed that up with an order from Amazon. (I have an acre-plus with hosta, tasty shrubs and garden plots and a voracious deer population.) They don't stink like a lot of deer repellent does.

5 stars for deterring deer BUT 1 star for resident coyotes are now the nuisance reeking havoc trying to steal the gray pods, bending the metal posts and prying the gray pods off! Had a feeling this could happen considering the deterrent content...dried blood??? Lucky there are no domestic animals close by but something to think about.
