I received the instrument promptly and am very very pleased with it. I had never played a harp Guitar but with scads of You Tubes to demonstrate it's now a familiar instrument after one week. I did a minor truss rod adjustment and re-strung the guitar b=neck with silk & steel strings and it intonates beautifully. After reading that these guitars go of multi-thousands of dollars I am quietly overwhelmed at the sound and quality at this price. For now I do standard tuning and DADGAD on the guitar neck and I conveniently pitch the bass strings to (from thinnest to thickest : E (same as guitar's 6th string ) D C B A G . I had to tune tune the first bass string unison to the guitar's 6th string to keep it from buzzing, any lower pitch on this string buzzes. But they are all now very solid and useful. The 8 zithery treble strings I keep in an " all purpose" pent-tonic scale of , from shortest to longest -floor to sound hole : E' D B A G E G D ---- the lowest pitched of these -nearest the sound hole , is unison with the D of the guitar's first string at the 10th fret..........NOW MY ONE NEGATIVE ::: it would have been perfect if the makers had included a tuning wrench for the thin harp string posts as they are not geared tuners. My autoharp tuning wrench was too small so I have to use a 5/16th socket wrench to tune them. The lady that tunes my piano looked at it and will order me a #2 piano wrench. Anyway, I would have glady paid extra for a fitted tuning wrench. That said, these tuning posts really hold the strings to pitch and I was surprised to transport the guitar and when I arrived I pulled it out of it's bag and the thin strings were still IN TUNE !!! yay yay...........I would have paid for a sturdier bag or case as I have a keyboard case on order for it. All in all this instrument is well worth the price and then some....I would recommend it to anyone and will.....But please , throw in the tuning wrench. Love & Peace

I just got this guitar in the mail today. It arrived in good shape. It had super thick strings on the guitar neck, so I put electric guitar strings on it (.009s) so I could tune the guitar up to standard pitch (E, A, D, G, B, E).
The bridge and top of the instrument look a little stressed, and I thought I heard the glue under the bridge creak a little bit a couple times while I tuned it up. I have been carefully avoiding putting too much stress on the bridge.
That being said, it's a decent harp guitar that you can buy for cheap. Just be very careful to not tighten the strings too much, and you might want to replace the crazy thick guitar strings right away.

Response to Gregg Miner

Response to Gregg Miner, I don't know how you can trash what you have not played, I am a non pro musician with over 40 years experience, and an owner of high end Martin, Taylor and Gibson guitars. I have played in bands and opened for pros. I feel that I am a pretty good judge of quality. No this is not a $7000.00 guitar, but. The one I got is a great Instrument. I was surprised it was as good as it is. The intonation was perfect, it played as good as any guitar I have, the sound was not half bad, and it was impressive through an amp. I helped it out with a K and K mic and preamp I use on my vintage Martin. Show a little kindness ! I am not sure of their overall quality but mine was great. If it's not to your likin' send it back. I may show up at the Harp gathering proudly playing my Ktone harp guitar. I am not a label person. I may not ever tried a harp guitar if it hand not been for Ktone. I plan to move into a better instrument in the same way I moved from a $29.00 Sears guitar to the collection of fine guitar I now own and play.

I too bought this guitar after reading the reviews, one being very positive and the other very negative. I agree that most often you only get what you pay for, so I didn't set expectations high and wasn't disappointed when I had to do some work on it setting it up to make it playable. If you are handy with hand tools want to do it yourself you can find set up instructions at Frets.com. I Think I'm going to be quite happy with it after adjusting the neck and lowering the saddle. If your looking for a professional quality instrument then dig deep into your pocket and shell out the 5000 to 8000+ dollars to buy it. My pockets weren't that deep. Almost any guitar can be made to play well with a good setup. It plays very well now and is a very nice looking instrument. I gave it 4 stars because it could have been set been set up better at the factory or dealer.
