Readout is only visible on an angle, NOT straight-on. Why? Odd.

Item will not calibrate, despite clear, explicit instructions on how to do so. Adjusting calibration has zero effect on the errant reading.

Calibrated with two other hygrometers performing salt test. Both of the other hygrometers were dead on 75%. This one was way off by more than 10%. The correction is only plus or minus 6. I hope all the other folks who gave such a high rating were calibrating for accuracy. Also, the picture is misleading. You're seeing the temperature in digital read out. The black line is your humidity. I'm just sticking with the old school analog. That's all this is anyway with the exception of the temp. Not sure if it would be worth the money even if it was accurate. This is science. Water boils at a certain temp, it freezes at a certain temp, etc. The salt test doesn't lie. I was shocked after reading all the positive reviews. Amazon, as always, took care of me though!

Bought this as I did not trust the non-digital hygrometer that came with my humidor. Having trouble seasoning my humidor and wanted to be sure the humidity was as low as it was reading. I bought the Bovena calibration kit (which i also recommend) and it was exactly accurate right out of the box. Hoping the Bovena seasoning kit will solve my other problem. Seller also answered my questions promptly. Don't see why you would buy any other hygrometer than this. Highly recommend.

Spot on accurate right out of the box with no calibration needed. I used a Boveda 75% calibration kit and the Hygrometer read 75% without any adjustment needed. You do have to look at the gauge straight on to see the reading. It you look at it at an angle you see every tick mark possible. Hard to know that is going to happen based on the Amazon picture. The other reviewer that submitted a picture of it was completely accurate with this issue.

I've been using this for 11 months now. Accuracy is spot on with Boveda packs in my humidor. when I first put this in my humidor I only had about 25 to 30 cigars in a 100 count humidor, so my humidity level was lower than my Boveda packets. Now that my humidor is storing closer to 80 cigars it is spot on. You need a fuller humidor to hold the humidity. Also after 11 months I'm still on the original battery. I will be buying another one of these soon for my secondary humidor.
