Bought this to mill grains for beer brewing. Just returned it. Adjustability of milling coarseness is questionable (at best...). Also, the grinding disks seem to be made of the same metal (plated iron?) that the body is made of. Given that the plates run against each other, I wonder how much metal you grind into your grain.
I also had a nasty surprise when trying to return it, getting a non-refundable item notice. This was made clear when I purchased the mill. Kudos to Amazon for issuing a refund.

With experimentation, we were able to grind wheat into flour. Bought this to make cracked wheat for breakfast and it is perfect. Very pleased with its versatility.

Use it to crack corn and other grains for my chickens. Works great and you'll get a great work out doing it. Might get some metal flakes at first but the chickens didn't complain. With large hard grains like corn please do not expect extra fine corn flour after one pass. This is based off the same model when people understood you couldn't have instant gratification. You may need to run it through four or five times if you want a very fine flour. People back in the day had a choice, spend an extra 30 minutes grinding it a few times or hitching up the wagon and taking a days ride to town to spend money they didn't have on flour. Please don't buy it and expect it to perform like a commercial mill.
