my sons cheese slicer wire broke, then ours broke, and depression set in, no replacements handy, amazons friendly merchants to the rescue, hooray the day is saved, ordered, whoosh, received, frowns turned into smiles. thank you, thank you., and thank you again.

These replacement wires will work for any marble top cheese slicer that is 5 inches wide. The package comes with wire installation instructions but I also added mine below.
Unscrew marble handle B from retaining nut C ('stainless steel donut') and remove the D shaped arm away from the cheese slicer.
Remove old wire from the D shape arm A.
Slide base of D shape arm A into bottom of cheese slicer and loop one end of the new wire around the the groove at the base of the arm A.
Slip the other end of the wire onto the threads of the marble handle (B). Screw the marble handle back onto retaining nut C.
Position the new wire on the bottom of the retaining nut C.
Slide retaining nut C onto arm A and swing the arm A down to aligning wire in groove
Tighten wire by adjusting angle of marble handle B and tighten the marble handle clockwise.
When the wire is taut, screw in handle until it locks against arm A through the retaining nut C.
Store the remaining new wires in the original package and note the location on a piece of paper (small sticky note) at the bottom of the cheese slicer.

After a number of failed DIY attempts at twisting my own wire (how hard can it be?), I finally gave in and ordered this set. They just work better and for me, I don't have to bother with the slicer anymore. I am not sure of the wire gauge of this set, but my failed attempts used thinner wire, which broke almost immediately, and heavier wire, which did not slice very well. 5 stars for the convenience factor alone.

It is frustrating that the Marble Cheese cutter breaks the wire as often as it does, but these replacements are very easy to install and are much better than trying to make your own wires out of guitar strings.

Upon arrival it was obvious that the pack had been folded (not in shipping) at some prior point resulting in a kink in the wires. Pliers corrected this. My cheese cutter was a different brand but of the same configuration and dimensions (I suspect that this style are all produced by the same Asian sweatshop). The wire did not fit it tightly enough and I broke one in the initial attempt to hook it up. After some fussing and a "redneck" modification with a plastic washer, I got it strung to where it does the job..
