Great support!

Needed a left thumb & arm brace. This is great. I took out the metal piece because it was pressing in the wrong place on my thumb.
Then it felt a lot better and my thumb is getting better.
If you can't get custom, get this

Excellent, high quality, very customizable retail product. I was sent to the ER after a major wrist injury (it was diagnosed as sprained at the ER "” 3 weeks later a specialist took an MRI because of my pain and discovered it was broken). The splint the ER gave me was crude; I ordered this as a replacement. Ultimately, my occupational therapist made me a custom splint, but this was a great substitute until the custom splint was fabricated. I'm keeping this for the future as it was a near-perfect fit and might be of use down the road. If you can't get a custom-made splint and need something that will hold your wrist and thumb in place, this is a great option. Also very protective. For 3 weeks I thought I had a sprain when in fact i had a break and yet no additional damage was done in that period. I attribute part of that to this splint.
The best!!!!

I bought different brands of wrist brace before I figured out that I needed a wrist brace WITH a thumb support as well. Apparently tendonitis can last for months and I needed something very supportive. I bought Mueller for daytime and Therapist Choice for nighttime. I also decided to get Thumb and Thumber brace. Therapist Choice is the best!!! Very supportive. Stabilizes the thumb and wrist very well. Because it does such a great job at stabilizing, it's harder to grip things with your hand. I don't mind though. Using Mueller during the day did not work for me because it wasn't supportive enough. I only ended up using the Thumb and Thumber brace when my Therapist Choice gets wet. It had less coverage in the palm/top of hand area so it's good when hand will get wet but because of this it has less support also. I just decided to get another Therapist Choice to switch to when the other one is wet and to change from night to day. I had to trim the Velcro straps because it was too long for me. Not a big deal. The brace has to be adjusted well otherwise it doesn't feel comfortable in the thumb area. I usually put it on with my palms down then back, middle and front Velcro straps. Initially, you'll have to adjust the thumb strap. I have hand washed and air dried it with no problem. Make sure and remove the two metal stabilizing bars first. One bar is under the palm area and easily slides out. The other one comes out of the thumb area. It's curved so you may need to wiggle it out a bit. Put the bars back when the brace is dry. Highly recommended. Will definitely buy again.
This is a great brace for those who suffer from DeQuervain's Tenosynovitis

This is a great brace for those who suffer from DeQuervain's Tenosynovitis. I was in such an extreme amount of pain in my left hand from repetitive motion of ripping paper (for my job) that I had to find some relief. In addition to physical therapy and taking OTC meds, this brace has helped tremendously in keeping my wrist and thumb stabilized. It allows for comfortable stabilization but does not hinder the use of the 4 other fingers. As my doctor explained it, you need support in front of and behind the injuried area. I initially had a shorter brace on which did nothing. This item features 3 adjustable velcro straps. I trimmed the ends of the straps once I found a comfortable fit and didn't need the excess hanging off grabbing on clothes or just being in the way. For me personally the thumb hole was a bit large, but I simply tightened the strap a little more and made it work. My only drawback is that the velcro on the thumb area tends to scratch me when I'm putting on a shirt, pulling up pants / socks, etc. I'll survive those minor imperfections, especially since this brace has really helped me stop over-using my wrist & thumb and give them a chance to heal. I HIGHLY recommend this product.
Good value - tight in the wrong places

Bought this for my son. He had surgery on his thumb to remove bone cysts, came recommended by hand surgeon nurse. It came fast, is quality construction, and easy to get on. The problem is the metal plate to support the thumb does not extend long enough and where it stops rubs on an area of the thumb that should be supported.
