Precor elliptical rusts for this user
Kevin L•April 7, 2017
I purchased a similar Elliptical from Precor back in late 2012. Assuming that they're using the same parts supplier, I would warn potential buyers that my experience with the unit was that the metal parts started rusting in late 2016. See the attached photos. This elliptical was used in a dry basement and was wiped down after every use.
What is even more frustrating is that Precor only replaced the parts and is sticking me with a $450 labor charge. Is this technically the warranty? Yes, but when you pay $2400 for a quality product you don't expect it to rust to this extent (or any extent) in four years! I will never again buy a Precor product.

Wonderful!
Good solid machine

I used Precor equipment for over a year at the fitness center but it is a 60 mile round trip. So I bought this basic version about a month ago and it does everything that I need - Cardio-vascular exercise in my case. I really like it and recommend it.
It comes mostly assembled in a quite large box but there is some assembly. They say to have someone to help and it would make the job easier. Being a bull-headed German, I did it by myself in a couple hours. I am 75.
If you are younger you might consider something in the 400 Series (i.e., more bells and whistles). For me it was not worth the extra money.
One caution. When I first saw the machine where I wanted it I was worried that my head might touch the ceiling. When standing on the machine you are noticeably above floor level and my ceilings are under 8 ft. All is well but I am 5ft 11 in. You might want to do the math unless you have 10 foot ceilings.

I don't have to go to the gym to do cardio anymore! Totally worth the money.
