Exceptional, and absolutely perfect!!
Ms. Margie Marg•March 5, 2017
Where do I begin? This bowl is incredible and is good quality. For starters, its handmade instead of just handbeaten, pillows are so elegant, comes with mallet, but most importantly, it resonates exceptionally well when it sings or is lightly tapped by the mallet. A little tap goes a very long way with this bowl. When purchasing a bowl, the key things to look for are the shape and the metal it is made from. My understanding is that this product is made from bell metal alloy rather than brass, bronze or the alleged seven metal combo that appears here and there. Bell metal appears to be the one that produces better quality sound and vibration than the others I've tried. I have a bronze bowl which sounds nice, it has a great tone, but it doesn't resonate long. My theory is because that it is made from a denser metal and because the bottom of the bowl is flat rather than narrow. I can make it sing but it quickly fades out maybe 6 seconds after I release the mallet, it goes completely flat which is not ideal for my usage. However, w/this bowl, I can tap with a mallet very very lightly and it resonates for more than one minute and it sings very very easily. Most bowls do sing easily, but again, a key factor is the shape. You want a narrow bottom, wide middle and narrow top like this bowl. If you get a bowl with a flat bottom, the sound won't carry nearly as well as this one. Although it can still produce a nice sound, you'd have to use the mallet more to maintain the sound. This product takes very little effort to produce an elgant pitch that lasts. Don't get caught up in the chakra tones, because each tones is unique to the person and a C tone to one person can sound very differently to another. Also, the tones and pitches can change depending on where you tap the bowl, how hard you tap the bowl and how slow/fast you use the mallet, all of these factors can change the sound of the bowl ever so slightly. The bronze bowl I mentioned earlier, I can produce two distinct tones, one that is medium and one that is very high. So when shopping for a bowl, i'd suggest looking at what draws you to it then reading the specs. This vendor impressed me so much with their quality bowls that I ordered several more in various sizes, and all of them produce a top quality, elegant, long lasting sound that is difficult to put into words. It is simple yet incredibly beautiful. I hope this helped someone today! Namaste.
